Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Hi @Shaz51

I am feeling very tired today, exhausted, but i did take something to help me sleep last night (which didnt really work) so it may be a bit of ahang over from that possibly. On a positive note the kids are feeling better, itching less and playing happily right now (touch wood!) so i'm enjoying a bit of quiet time.

I do need to go tothe hardward store though, as I realisd last night that the bike i bought for my lil guys birthday next week (hes turning 5!!!) needs a shifting spanner and i dont have one/or cant find it anyways. doh... hoping that iwill be able to get it alll put together as I've never done something like that. eep!

How are you doing @Shaz51?

Re: Night Shift

Oh @Former-Member, that is great that the kids are feeling better -- we don`t like seeing them sick

yes some medication does do that -- I had to take someting for my itching (don`t know what caused it but ouch ) -- and the next day I was still feeling it

I am good today , Hubby has gone to sleep again -- he woke up at 9-30 am fixed the push mower and has gone back to bed

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Mazarita

How are you this morning? I've sort of let my son use my computer so it's not as accessable for me for another two weeks......

But we are watching all of his DVDs. It's been wonderful having him here. He has two appiontments at HeadSpace this week. He is very troubled but since he went to the first appiontment ..it's a little like a big weight has lifted off his shoulders.

I can see where parents can become drama queens in his 'new,' to myself, take heed @Shaz51....I would not like to feel that your dear ...seperated mum of your step children being that but I guess she is. Your handling it well @Shaz51 !!

Ille always remember going to a drug and slcohol centre ...I was supporting someone...can't remember who but the mother was crying wanting me to hear her 'story,' while her daughter was trying to grab her handbag and take it. I felt so so sad for the woman but on the other hand hoping that she would get relief that someone would tell her to snap up and not be a victim. How difficult.

My oldest son although he loves me and listens to me, he usually goes downstairs to smoke green when I'm with him. I dont want to bring it up but on the other hand I know what I'de say if he ever brought it up. I would say what @Mazarita taught me and I have said to my youngest son. 'Take your time getting off it, go and see Head Space and I will be here for you.

@Jacques how are you? I have seen some embroidery on the website, thanks for that.

@Former-Member it is good to see you honey. You are on my mind that you are relaxing. You do good.

@Appleblossom I LOVE talking about books. but have to go because the husband is picking his head and being feral..........eeeeuuuughhhh. I've finihsed last book and reading (I know) Kate Atkinson. But she wrote this FANTASTIC book called Life After Life, Even the end was brilliant. Im reading the sequel, called A Good in Riuns and will be ordering the books you suggested in couple of weeks.

I've read a few of her....nice books. but that book, Life After Life, you just can't put it down. Gets a little confusing with all the 'lives,' in the middle but you just work it out........
