Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

I am so glad, i thought you might be upset with me for not saying hello more often.

Yes you are right, i have spoken to @BlueBay, and have read many messages from @Drac0 & @Peter_Pan78, so many nice new people, it is so good to see the SANE forum thriving.

I hope all is going well, i am off for a snooze now, hope to speak tonight on the feast.

hugs

Jacques

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Jacques,

As always, no worries with me how often you post. Always just great to see you when you do.

Thanks for saying it's okay about the volunteering, I need to hear it. I had some help from @NikNik to get the job and feel I've let her down. The withdrawal from it came about on the suggestion of my Phams worker, who was concerned by how much I'd crashed since starting it. I had needed to take three sick days out of six shifts. I still have a bad headache and sore back from Wednesday's fall so not doing much again over past couple of days. Thanks for being proud of me even when I don't feel like I'm succeeding at much.

Hope you enjoy your snooze, @Jacques. Hi to everyone else too. Hope to see you at the Friday Feast tonight.

Oh my goodness! No need to feel like you let me down at all, @Mazarita

We're proud of you for taking care of yourself!

Re: Night Shift

Hi @Mazarita,

You should be proud of yourself for getting the job in the first place, i know what it is like i had to do work for the dole back in 2002, i could only manage to go to it 2 times then i stopped my pay, i am just glad yo uare ok.

Please take extra special care of yourself, i know how quickly depression can set in and old habbits can creep back into our lives.

Remember all your coping stratagies and be proud of the fact you tried and remember all that you have achieved over the past 6 months.

hugs @Mazarita

Re: Night Shift

Not much vigour here @PeppiPatty .. but post what you need to post .. we are listening

I did my son's hair yesterday. Shopped for food and cooked today and am doing my physio exercises .. thats it .. the rest of the time I am just lying in bed staring into space ... can only concentrate for a little reading or gardening for 20 mins. Felt the cashier was annoyed at my obvious vulnerability at the supermarket today ... I wish I could hide away.

My son has agreed to watch a movie tonight though ... so I appreciate that.

DEar @Peter_Pan78,

Yeah I got your name wrong again.....(typical) lol

People. people all.......my lovely son is 21 years old and he has been amoking a lot of green and he told me once, he was lighting up that he remembered things that happened to him when his Father was up about 10 years ago. Maybe 10 to 12 years ago,

I knew that he and my Fahter was both trying to wrk out a way to get both my sons taken off me, there was no suprises there but the latest thing he said to me has .....stopped me. When he was telling me, he was shaking uncontrolably.

I spoke calmly to him and we actually drove down the road and he made an appiontment with Head Space, HEad Space is about a 15 minute walk away from my home.

I feel so surreal and ill.

Re: Night Shift

I am glad your motherhood is being respected @PeppiPatty... even just that he is with you now and sharing.

But it is horrible to see a loved son shaking uncontrollably. Thinking of you both.

Hope Head space can help.

Re: Night Shift

My son said that my ex husband was sexually abusing him.

he was shaking uncontrollably and i went into a weird space. He said that he mihht have been imagining it. Ive written a note to one of his best friends fathers to take him out for coffee in that I feel he would do this but it is none of my business to tell anyone.
