Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita I agree with @Jacques in wanting you around for a while.

You have both been there for me.

It often takes a while for a diagnosis to sink in.

I have just been reading about Curcumin, coconut oil and the importance of B12 even for non-vegans.

There may be ways you can work on the cleansing and building up your body to give yourself the best chance against the COPD.

Yes I am in a better space than I was when I first joined. This new Thursday choir (2 years new) seem to want me to be a part. I feel the friendship. Not all the snubs and put downs .. different culture ... It feels so different from my old christian choir, but I will still go and sing at that church tomorrow ... some special music for the funeral of a special priest ... deeply artistic and spiritual ... we are singing from the Dream of Gerontius.

Yes I agree with @PeppiPatty being told she is doing enough ... she does heaps and has a good heart ... but still we all need to be told. I appreciate @Jacques for telling me that ... the first time I ever have been supported in that way ... truly ... so thanks again @Jacques Not one of my counsellors ever said anything remotely like that ... hmmmm ...

cheers Apple

Re: Night Shift

@PeppiPatty, the film version of Bliss had a big impact on me when I first saw it in about 1985. It was a bit of a life changer in some ways. I got 'Mateship With Birds' from eBay after @Appleblossom recommended it to me one night. I hope you enjoy it too.

Re: Night Shift

@Mazarita It just shos that the girl (Apple) knows what we like !!!

I'm just on Booko sit site seeing where to get it the cheapest......it might be easier for me to get it from American Amazon because Im ordering these little glass vases for only 7 down from 116 ....for one of my bosses. My bosses are so good to me but they know me so well.

On channel 2 last night, there was the beginning of a 3 segment series of being in a Psychiatric Ward in Australia. Did you watch it?? Me and @LittleBuddha did and we thought that it was ......realistic.

Re: Night Shift

You are so welcome my dear friend @Appleblossom,

I think sometimes it takes someone with lived experience to truly understand what it is like, counsellors, psychiatrists psychologist all train for years, but have no actual experience of what it is like to suffer every day.

I am always here for you my friend, i am just a message away 🙂

hugs

Jacques

I needed to be told. I've stopped running around like a headless chook.
As should you. Trust @Jacques to be sensitive enough to pick it up..... Just before I search for soft leather shoes on ali express dot com (cheap cheap cheap)
I've got a few things I want to write and write to you ....friend

@Shaz51 @Mazarita @Appleblossom @Jacques @Former-Member @Moongal @Billamba @Former-Member @Sukourcat

Firstly; are you writing about a choir that you feel is wanting you to be a part of the choir?? I should think so!!It is so wonderful that you can feel the embrace of connectedness. I almost see a lacy handkerchief warpping around your image and caring for you. I'm a really girly girl, I like lace.....

This is how I felt with seeing the pastor ; reverend who was so important in my life when I was a little girl. Of course, when I was ordering coffee, Mr @LittleBuddha was explaining his .....D.i.a.g.n.osis to him and his naughty past....My friend says, oh yeah, I have a son who went down this path and ....connected with him graciously.

We were talking about 'stuff, he told us both some...I must say bizarre and exciting stuff about his travels. I whip this book out of my bag, a book that one of my clients from caring lent me and he says, oh yes, I had a coffee with this author ..actually right,,,,here. Im laughing and calling him a name dropper....

And he says...Anne. I have something important to say to you (this is like 30-to 40 years range ago) but I was never available to you when you were a little girl and I want to say Im sorry, I just wanted to say this to you. I didnt know how to.........

I was and still am overwhelmed. This beautiful man who has had not just feral times but has 4 of his own children all who have their own .....individual lives. at the time,....... I thought, a teenager, it was my fault that I wasnt accepted at the church in 1979-1986. It still does stick with you Apple. I know how you write because I have these.....feeling about rejection that sticks with you.

I say to him, yes but we were in a family and others cared for me like.......

But I still burst out crying, I still.....felt overwhelmed and amazed that this man, in his own.....life.......had said this to me. Have you had an experience like this Apple? Do you feel healing from some things that have been resolved.....maybe not, like I have but .......

(name dropper that he is)

He's my friend and he loved and loves me. And accepted Mr @LittleBuddha

Wait till he meets Arlo....
