Night Shift

Night Shift

Since I am awake at 4am I thought I'd start this thread for those of us who have trouble sleeping and might find it helpful to have a place to go to chat. Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

To get the ball rolling, I'll just say that I enjoyed being part of the Topic Tuesday discussion tonight. I wish it was possible for these events to be weekly rather than monthly. Either way, thanks SANE and all the people I've met on here over recent months.

Edited June 2016 and February 2017: Night Shift is now open 24 hours a day. To join in, just click through to the last page of the thread at the top right of this post to get to the latest message.

Edited April 2017 and June 2017: For the sake of better communications between members here, I am adding that this thread is meant to be a caring, kind and gentle place of sharing. Humour is welcome, as long as its not unkindly directed towards other members. Hope your time in this chat thread is rewarding.

Re: Night Shift

That is spot on @PeppiPatty, i could not have said it better myself, i like the term horizontal identification, it is so true, i all aspects of life, we are attracted to people like ourselves and people who want to be like us.

Go Anne, it is all about being respectful and positive, one thing i have learned through years of arguing with a neighbour, is it always ends in a no-win situation with both parties, the key is to avoid toxic people and surround yourself with healthy people.

if we can get positive outcomes from our friends we are happier and more responsive to others needs. i suppose it is a give and take thing?

Re: Night Shift

Second of January and it's also the second day that partner and I have (as agreed) had no green stuff in the flat. I've napped a few times today and done virtually nothing. For some odd reason, I've noticed that I get more tired, bored and unmotivated without it. I thought it was supposed to be the other way around? It's probably a symptom of withdrawal, I guess.

In any case, the absence of green is also making a difference to the amount of tobacco I smoke generally through the day. Paradoxically, it's a lot less! Came in at 7 yesterday (that's 5 under the psychologist's current target for me), and it's shaping up way under target again today.

So... feeling really tired, bored and unmotivated, but celebrating anyway because of a sudden improvement in my attempts to give up smoking.

Wondering what everyone else is up to on this quiet second day of the new year.

My hub:::::: well you can notice a change : he's clearer a bit in his day to day wellbeing
All I can see is I'm so tired
