Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member So good to hear from you, but sorry to read of the flu symptoms, I hope it's not glandular fever flare up. You and @Former-Member have a lot in common with D's and growing up. Being a mum must be so hard. I hear it said so often, it's the hardest job in the world and I believe that. You sound like you need rest @Former-Member, I find though I don't sleep, just to lie down helps. I too have had a strong faith in the past, now I see beauty in small things and wonder. I have no answers, wish I did, I think I got side tracked by people but not sure yet. A work in progress. My music brings beautiful messages. I have my Christian music and believe the message is that of the soul, hard to put into words. Tomorrow will be a big reunion. D will be brimming with stories of her adventures, I can see it in my mind. I hope you enjoy your time together. Take care @Former-Member
@Former-Member I haven't been with this dr long, and til now, found her to be quite good, though now I am beginning to wonder, as its a big mistake. I should have gone to A&E really, but sitting waiting for hours after a fall wasn't my cup of tea as I was shaky and just wanted to be at home. Maybe it's my mistake and not hers???
WOW putting the injection in the wrong place is also a biggie, now you are back at square one, sorry to hear that. Yes I imagined cleaning would be on your agenda today with B coming for the weekend, you do live a busy life. I hope it goes well with breathing spaces hear and there.
The best time for tassie I would think would be spring or Autumn as its pretty middle temps then. Last year summer came in March, up til then, every day apart from Christmas Day was in the early to mid 20s, very pleasant. But the way this year is going, things have changed.
Ive just done a little xstitch, so I'm pleased, mist been awhile since I picked it up. I might put some music on and relax for a bit. I hope you and @Former-Member enjoyed your coffee. Good to have a chat.

Re: Taking the plunge
Haha! Yes, I too think that we need feet insurance @Former-Member
What the heck is it lately, re our feet ![]()
With all that's gone on lately re hospital stay etc etc etc, it's not wonder I don't want to go out anywhere. ![]()
Oh dear, what happened last night Mohill, if you want to chat about it, ok if not. I hope you have success at the GP today.
Yes, being a mum is emotionally, very difficult @Maggie I never knew how emotionally draining it would be. Having worked with kids, I thought it would be easy. As stressful as it is, it is worth it. It was particularly difficult letting her go this time, after being in hospital, injuring foot the day before etc. Then she thought that she had fractured her other foot on the stairs while there, was an "oh my gosh"! feeling. Thankfully first aid at the resort looked at her foot and thought that it looked ok. She refused to come home early. She has determination, that's for sure.
A terrible mistake for the GP not to investigate re your nose Maggie. So disappointing for you that further treatment will be required.
I wish that I would spend the little energy I find on doing fun/nice things for myself @utopia But I don't. I can't stand a messy house, I wish I could over look it, but it makes me feel very cranky looking at mess. I guess it's a bit of OCD. I've tried ignoring it, but it doesn't work. I'm never on top of cleaning, but I try. By the time I have cleaned up, I have no energy to do anything nice for myself. I do go out for coffee/lunch with D when she is home.
That's good that you have your dogs. We'd love to get a puppy, not sure when though. Our kitty was put to sleep not that long ago.

Re: Taking the plunge
Good news is @Former-Member My toe has healed and I can now walk on it. No excuses for not exercising, except, I need to find the motivation and energy to do it. ![]()

Re: Taking the plunge
I've never been overly tidy. I'd keep the house to a reasonable level of cleanliness. But this year with the depression and no motivation, my house is a pig sty. I get depressed looking at the mess - but still I struggle to clean up.
I used to be very garden proud. Had a stunning garden. But since getting this MI 3 years ago, the garden has gone to ruin & weeds.
I used to have 2 large 3 by 3 metre vegie patches. So I used to grow a lot of my own vegetables. And of course I have a heap of fruit trees too.
It's all neglected now. The Cooch grass has totally taken over the vegie patches and the fruit trees are left to themselves.
Hopefully now my depression is lifting - my motivation and energy will come back soon and then I can rediscover my passion for gardening.

Re: Taking the plunge
I totally "get it" re depression and not being able to clean up etc and in particular keeping up with the garden. @utopia
I very rarely garden. I potted some things during winter and am pleased that most of them have survived. Pots are my limit. I'm happy if I can keep them alive. I noticed just before, when I was hanging washing, that the Kent pumpkin seeds I planted are growing and a couple of avocado plants have started to grow in pots, from seeds.
Depression is an awful thing to live with and I too hope that you will start to feel better each day.
Yes, loosing kitty was very hard. I still miss her and think of her often. I still expect to see her. I try not to think about it too much, it's too sad.
A puppy would help, I just need to stop looking at dogs that are too expensive. I am going to have to try and find out where I can get a puppy at reasonable price. I have no idea where to look. Have been to the refuge and they rarely have puppies. Twice, in the past we have gone there to get a puppy and both times, we came home with a cat. NOT this time. ![]()

Re: Taking the plunge
Yes I'm starting to feel a lot better as my depression keeps lifting. As far as I can see, it will just keep getting better. Then, I'll start cleaning up my house. I have plans for my house, but again, lack of motivation and energy, stop all plans. But by early next year, I believe things will be different and I'll be up and about doing things and getting into more of a routine.
