Re: Taking the plunge

My brother is coming over tomorrow @Former-Member. I am madly preparing, the coffee helped lol.

I understand your protectiveness towards your daughter. I was the same and also made my daughter my world. My daughter though hurt me badly for many years as she struggled with issues herself. She has now moved out and ironically that has brought us closer. She is sorry for what she put me through and loves me. Apart from her happiness, that is all I could ask for.

You will be always close to your daughter - they will look back and see just how much we cared and how wise was our advice when they venture out into the big bad world. You taught her well and she will be fine. She will enjoy her freedom with friends but will appreciate and miss you all the more @Former-Member. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. The bond you have together will never be broken - her love will grow for you.

It is a good thing your daughter is not letting anything stop her from living her life - surviving on her own will make her grow as a person and be stronger against the curveballs in life. It will build in her resilience and more confidence. They will learn from there mistakes and grow wiser for it - and our daughters will always come back to the source where they know there is much love for them and where they can rest their minds in difficult times. Their safe place with their parent/s. It's a special bond that can't be broken when love is present on both sides.

Hope those flu symptoms improve my friend and you day gets better. Lots of love ❤️

Re: Taking the plunge

Your day sounds like magic to me @utopia. Sitting with nature and reading a good book in peace! That's what life is about. Lovely. I can see it in my mind.

Such great news about your depression lifting more each week. What a wonderful outcome!! The energy and motivation will come in time. For me it was a bit like learning to walk again until I was ready to run!! 🤗x

Re: Taking the plunge

Finally made my cuppa @Former-Member ☕
After putting more washing on and washing a window.
Have cleaned alot this week at least I've done something useful 😂
I've had glandular fever before and it flares up often unfortunately. Doc said that's normal 😮😕

I'm really pleased that your daughter has changed her life around.
Must have been so devastating to see her go through everything and so very hurtful for you that she hurt you so much. Again your faith worked. I really need to work on mine.
Sometimes I can believe and often I'm so discouraged and disappointed mind you after a lifetime of traumas that's understandable 😊
I keep a little spark of faith going each day though, otherwise there's no point.

Re: Taking the plunge

And a spark can turn into a light which in time becomes a flame @Former-Member Keep going.....

It is understandable to question faith in times of abuse and hurt. I was an atheist until I reached the age of 28 as a result of chi, hood neglect and abuse. I realised eventually that it wasn't God who inflicted the suffering as people have free will, and he was the instigator of all that was good in my life - those little things that helped, nature and was in the people who were loving or helping me trying to make the wrongs right. He was behind my daughter's turn around etc. And how God himself suffered at the hands of man....I realised he suffers too and with us when we are. He feels all the pain as we do when our daughter's suffer and we can't fix it - just help, love and guide.

I felt empty within when young and needed more. That's where it started for me. Life did not become easier, just more fulfilling within with real love. Rich in that sense. I wouldn't change it now. The past is gone and the future to be written - a better future.

Discouragement and being disheartened is a painful place to be - I can get stuck when feeling that way. Then I say to myself to heck with it - and I then do something that gives me a sense of purpose and fulfilment. Even if just cross stitching - all the little goods has value. And focusing on them and the good in my life helps.

i have to clean now - I hope your day gets better my friend. Lots of love ❤️

Re: Taking the plunge

Understand @Former-Member Re not good to dwell on the past. I definitely don't like to do that.
Just need to feel well so I can do nice/fun things.
I'd better get moving too.
Nice to chat. 💜

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Former-Member. How are you doing today? Heard you've been cleaning. I don't have the motivation for that. But I did trim my dogs coat. Tomorrow I'll use the dog clippers and then give her a bath & wash her dog bed.
I'm currently washing my big dogs bed. So she'll be nice and comfortable tomorrow when it's dry.
