Re: Taking the plunge

It’s all of those twisted kind of things @CheerBear . Toxic better than nothing. Loss and sadness, even though that loss is toxic. I’m feeling more twisted than ever.

I keep making excuses for her behaviour. She comes back charming and caring. And I presume I have it all wrong. My brain is messed up, and I always find a good enough reason why I’m the bad one, why I caused it.

Deep down though, I do know it’s not right. So many have advised me to move away, and they only superficially saw what was really happening.

Fear has always been there @CheerBear and it’s the first time I’ve stood up for myself. Costly process.

Re: Taking the plunge

Once again it's those layers @Maggie, that add to why it's hard to leave a relationship like that. There's so much that has come before this kind-of-friendship that's a jumble and a mash. Add in apologies and charm that lead to self-doubt, and it's a recipe for twisted and difficult. It's not your fault Maggie.

Fear can trap us even when we know something is off. It's twists and turns even the most obvious of things, let alone a complicated relationship 🙁

So much shaking my head at the cost to you 😔 It is so unfair that bullies and people who choose to abuse others seem to get through OK often while those on the receiving end suffer.

Lots of respect for leaving it there @Maggie. Thank you for sharing what you have. It's so good to see you and spend time with you, messy, twisted or otherwise.

Gig day today. And all three are up and dressed already. An improvement on yesterday.

Thinking of you lots, sending oodles of ❤🌈

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Maggie @CheerBear @Zoe7 @Former-Member very much hope today is a better day for you all.

@Maggie I'm so sorry to hear what you went through being abused physically on top of everything else kind-of-friend has dished out over time.

and @CheerBear hearing what a difficult time you are having at the moment too. I really hope you both keep having the strength and self-belief to keep standing up for your own values and needs.

@Former-Member how outrageous that your NBN still isn't fixed. Especially with potential emergencies. I was under the impression that if you had health issues or situations that meant essential immediate communication needs (eg local fires) that the telco and NBN service provider were obliged to fix it within 3 days. Might be time to contact the communications ombudsman.

Re: Taking the plunge

Thinking of you @Maggie, wondering if you made it to the Dr and how you're going today after yesterday. Hugs ❤

I did the calls to uni thing that I've been avoiding for too long (years) to try and start the process of returning to study. I was smashed with a knock-down this morning when I found out my course is no longer offered and was told to transfer to a totally different course (at the expense of a whole lot of units). I got back up and tried again this afternoon and spoke to the national course advisor who told me they're teaching my course out, meaning there's a chance they'll let me finish the very little I have left.

I also found out they've been offering an Associate Degree qualification after 2nd year, which I have met the requirements for. It's not a degree but 2/3rds of it. I asked about whether I could get the actual certificate to say I have that qualification and am waiting to hear back. It would be a huge deal for me as it's that one step higher than the diploma level qualifications I have now, and some recognition of the ridiculous amount of study I have done (and then lost).

I'm tired. I find it hard to even touch on or think about study so I am proud I managed this without crashing too big time.

Fingers crossed 🤞

❤ to all and thanks for reading if you did.

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear Well done on pushing through after a huge let down. 🤞🤞🤞🤞 you get the certificate you deserve. I hope you are proud of yourself. This is a big deal.

I did get to the Dr @CheerBear and felt better for having made the effort. That is until I returned home and was greeted by 4text messages from the persons person. I can’t even write the friend word. They are accusing me, I suspected this might happen, it’s how they work. My counsellor and I are looking at taking an AVO out. I’ve been avoiding this, but it just might come to that. I’m still making excuses, and you think you learn the hard way.

How is the cake coming along, if you had time that is. 🎂🎂🌈🌈
