Re: Taking the plunge

The more severe fires are in the North East and North of Hobart @Owlunar There is one close to where my sister has her new home that has been going for over a week but they are not in danger at the moment. I think a lot of the smoke is from that fire as that is the direction it is coming from.

@Maggie do you have the same up North Hon?

Re: Taking the plunge

Thanks @Zoe7

I hope your sister's home is safe through these fires - we can hope this - wish this - pray for this -

I looked up the fire situation in Tassie - the fires are in the North East at Fingal - west of Bicheno which is safe atm - I know these areas - it tends to make me scan the maps more -

And if there is a north wind you will have smoke in Hobart - I hope there are no fires near Hobart this year -

But the smoke - wow - the smoke - it's really bad this year

Re: Taking the plunge

I hope so too @Owlunar We need all the resources we have here in the state to help on the mainland. Fingal and surrounds is at Watch and Act but most of the others are only advice or no alert right now ...but like the rest of the country rain would really help.

It's everywhere @Appleblossom I am waiting for pay day on Wednesday so I can get some things to make some animal pouches and wraps. There are drop off points all over Australia. It is estimated we have already lost over 500 million of our wildlife and so many more need housing and medical care.

@Zoe7

I have an email from the zoo too. There are 2 vet hospitals in my local area and they are busy.

Heavy

A little encouraged by international media taking an interest in our country.

Take Care Bella

Re: Taking the plunge

It is an unprecedented event here @Appleblossom so all the coverage around the world we can get if it helps with awareness, donations and help on the ground.

You take care too Hon

Re: Taking the plunge

@Zoe7 We had heavy smoke coverage all day Saturday. Not sure if it came from here or the mainland. Yesterday was coolish, today warmer but clear.

I’m finding the loss overwhelming, I can only imagine what everyone involved is feeling. I have shed many tears with both people and animal loss, then the beautiful bush. Oh dear, it’s sad beyond words. ❤️❤️

@Owlunar We can only do our best to help where we can. Every little bit helps. Thoughts, prayers, money, food. It puts things into perspective in the bigger picture. ❤️❤️

@Appleblossom The zoo must be a struggle atm, not sure if it affects that part of life, I imagine it might. Sending kind thoughts your way.💛💛💛💛

@Gazza75 nice to see you around again. You have been missed, but time out to refresh is necessary, we all need it, and do it. Sorry you are in the midst of things. Take care where you can. 💛💛💛
