Re: Taking the plunge

I will be thinking of you today with your app @CheerBear . It’s not going to be easy.

I’m hoping you can leave some shame behind in his office. Is it too hot to sparkle??💜💜💜

Thanks @Maggie ❤

Sparkle is a must today. It's never too hot to sparkle (it kind of is but there's no way I'm leaving it today 😁)

👋❤

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie thank you 😊

My psych appt went so much better than I expected. He said there was no judgment in part because he didn't think it was wrong (there's context there that I can't go in to here) and also, as you said, there's enough judgment from myself. We worked through my fear that I was manipulating the other person (I'm not), doing something wrong (it's not) and the idea I might be a "homewrecker" (also not). I then left some shame behind. Psych said he was excited to see me letting go some more, allowing myself to be vulnerable, exploring intimacy safely etc. The only issue he saw was that this wasn't part of my plans and he knows I don't like anything that isn't part of a/the plan 😉 This could be a good thing. This person makes me feel good and is so safe in a way I haven't experienced for a long time, if ever. He has recognised subtle shifts in my body language and asked me about them and what they mean, he asks permission to say and do things with me, he checks in a lot... Not the way things usually go in my experience. I then spoke with the other person involved about where I was with it all and to see where he was with it too. We will take it bit by bit and see what, if anything, comes of it.

So that's that really. I feel a bit better this afternoon. You helped with that a lot by listening and sharing, thank you ❤

I hope your day is going along OK. Interested in hearing how it's going if you'd like to share.

Re: Taking the plunge

@CheerBear I’m more than pleased your appointment went so well. Your psych sounds like an amazing person. My counsellor does all the same things with me @CheerBear . Never does anything without my permission. Giving me back the power I never had, plus a voice. I have input into my therapy. If it’s not working, let’s look at something else. Sounds like yours is on the same wavelength.

Bit by bit sounds wise. You have done well. I do hope you have straightened that crown. Hold your head high. I’m soooooo proud of you. Be proud of yourself.

I’ve just returned from a trip to the cherry farm with kind of friend. Full as a gug. 🤮🤮🤮

I’ve watched the fire situation with horror. Those poor people. It’s like hell out there. I really had to stop as I was getting over anxious about what anyone can do to help.

I hope you are doing something nice for yourself this afternoon. It’s so good to talk to you. Thank you for not judging me also. You are a special person @CheerBear . 💜💜💜💜💜

Re: Taking the plunge

Hey again @Maggie. I've just been reading about the fires also wirh horror. I haven't heard or seen footage (no radio or t.v. or social media for me) but caught some convo then went looking. So, so sad and so very full on 😔

I read my post above with a half laugh. I scatter brain jumbled up my psych and this new "he person" when I was writing (yay cut and paste gone wrong! - I think I was just excited to share that it went well) making it read like psych makes me feel so good and x, y and z. I guess to an extent he does just not in the way I was thinking when I wrote that about this new person who is doing it in a different way 😉. But when I think about it some more, my psych does have a similar approach to your counsellor (but can be direct and pull me up sometimes which I'm not sure your counsellor would do?). So glad you/we have that. It's ultra important to have that input, your voice and for another to gain permission, especially when so often trauma robs us of those things. Just listening without judgment, with care, respect and sensitivity - so therapeutic.

I feel OK. This is OK. New, tricky and unexpected but it's an experience and there's growth and learning in that. Plus I really do feel good around him.

Cherry farm sounds fab! I hope the kind of friend merry-go-round didn't cause you too much dizzy (there's a question mark there if you'd like to talk but a full stop if you'd like to leave it) ? . ❤

Family gathering this arvo, meeting some soon to be in law folk. Very happy families :face_with_rolling_eyes:😖🤯. I am here at the moment so my nice thing for myself is timing out to say hi here 🙂

Thanks for your very kind words and for not judging me. Thank you for being you ❤

Re: Taking the plunge

Oh wow @CheerBear . That’s so much better than psych making you feel ok.

He sounds really really nice. Caring, sensitive, soft and smelling nice. 👍👍👍

My counsellor can be direct, but gently. We know each other in this setting. She has done a face gasp @CheerBear , but learns more from her clients than her studies or books. Trauma counseling must be draining.

Enjoy the happy family 🤯🤯🤯🤩🤩🤩🤪🤪🤪🤪💙💙💙💙
