How have you spent this year so far? (If you feel up for sharing).
Almost second here ☕

Re: Taking the plunge
Kind of friends dog had a op on Tuesday. @CheerBear Torn ligament. She’s doing well so far, as dogs do.
Preparing to put an article in the local paper regarding the specialist ( not) app. OMG. Jumping from one drama to the next.
Are you up to sharing how you have been of late, or is it too sore still??

Re: Taking the plunge
Massive with the article! Are you writing it, maybe with counsellor? Is counsellor around at the moment with the holidays? Lots of questions.
I wrote how I was and said my big secret, then my phone crashed. Not sure if that's a sign 😏 I want to talk about it but it's hard

Re: Taking the plunge
That was brave to write it @CheerBear even if it crashed. ❤️❤️
Ive been reading about shame, it’s one of my very big ( issues ). 😩😩😩
Internal and external and toxic. I have all three. Yey for me. 👍👍👍
I know you know all this stuff, but sometimes it’s hard to give ourselves compassion, when we would be the first to offer it to others. That’s where I Sometimes feel like hypocrite, say one thing do another to myself.
Yes, I will write the article. Counsellor will help. She’s on holidays, but still gives a phone call when she can.
I’m over kind of friend @CheerBear AGAIN.
I have one of those secrets also @CheerBear . Maybe when your psych gets back. You trust him. I eventually talked about mine, still hold the shame, but it’s lots easier.

Re: Taking the plunge
Mega act of resistance there with the article. Seriously huge. How are you feeling writing and sharing it?
Shame is so hard @Maggie 🙁 I think it can grow in silence maybe and usually I try and counter it by talking but I just can't see how anything other than judgment and the opposite of compassion can be given to this which is why it's so hard. I'm not sure how psych will take it (actually I'm pretty confident psych will take it with a facepalm and a "seriously CheerBear" 😐). Taking a big breath now. I met someone kind, fun, funny, gentle, very nice smelling, good in lots of ways. All the things and also married with a family. I crossed the line recently and then crossed it again more recently. I have such a complicated relationship with intimacy, men, myself etc and it all gets messy. Right now I'm questioning who I am, why I make the choices I do, what's wrong with me, why I would do this... lots of questions. It's a big, twisty, shameful thing.
That's where I am at. Messy 🙁

Re: Taking the plunge
I understand messy @CheerBear . 💜💜
I think your psych will handle your secret in the way it needs to be handled. Gently. 💙💙
I met judgment from some, understanding and compassion from others. No one could judge me more than I do myself. It is messy. I get that, but it does take two, so, that might be worth considering also. 💙💙💙
Its always wonky around kind of friend @CheerBear. She messes with my head. I end up confused and guilty, even when I haven’t done anything. Seriously wonder about my intelligence often. Anyway, I’ve pulled back where I can, and hope to be unavailable sometimes, but she gets annoyed. A no win situation.
You are still the same @CheerBear . Kind, caring, compassionate, funny, great mum who wears sparkly boots. Loving daughter, sister. Wiser, much wiser I imagine. 💛💛💛

Re: Taking the plunge
Psych will pathologise this I think. Maybe I deserve that. I created chaos when I should be looking for calm. It does take two but that's on me. Thank you, big time, for listening and for accepting me for me, beyond my questionable choices. I'm clocking up some lessons in wisdom right now, just painfully slowly and through experience rather than logic and sense perhaps :face_with_rolling_eyes:
I feel frustrated and kind of sad to think of your kind of friend having that impact on you. I get how and why it is difficult to navigate though and how that kind of difficult can cause you to question yourself. Its one thing to be able to make sense of things from a distance or on paper, and another to live it. Pulling back and looking after yourself sounds like a sensible thing to try, though very hard to practice which is understandable especially with context.
Arrrrgh Maggie. Why does it all have to be so hard sometimes! 😖🤯🤕

Re: Taking the plunge
@CheerBear My secret is different. On the scale of things, much much worse. Tearing up thinking about it. I paid the price. It cost, big time.
There’s a big SHOULD in there @CheerBear .
I think wisdom comes from life lessons, more than logic and sense @CheerBear . Just an opinion though.
We are all a mixture of good and bad. Good people do bad things. Bad people do good things. Even our trusted psychs/counsellors are human, and just as vulnerable. We are all human being.
It’s always been a rocky road with kind of friend. I try to convince myself at times that things are not what they are, but reality hits, and away we go again. A merry go round, not merry at all though. She knows I’m a soft touch. Aggg!
I don’t know why it has to be so hard @CheerBear , it just is.

Re: Taking the plunge
Being on that merry go round and having that soft touch makes things very difficult particularly around people who don't care to stop and see. Not much more to say aside from that I understand things are super complicated and there are layers and history and context within it all ❤
Easy would be easier 😉
I better get ready to start my day. I have an appt with psych which is great though I feel nervous. Then back to the normal and OK which isn't normal or OK. Messy.
So nice to see you and to share a cuppa with you. I'm often wondering how you're going and thinking of you. Seriously hoping I can find my place here again soon. I feel a bit lost at the moment.
Big ❤❤❤
