Re: Taking the plunge
Haha with the Chupa Chup wrappers! They are so hard!
Little loved the arcade, though they get overwhelmed with the lights and the sounds so there's only so much we can do (of anything) before all of a sudden they're done and we're out. They won a bucketload of tickets and found a fluffy rainbow llama for a bargain thanks to the wrong ticket cost by a lot being written on it. The person behind the counter was really nice and let Little have it anyway. We had seriously yum and big treat ice cream afterwards which was awesome (I had pistachio and ferrero rocher - omg!). I had fun once we got in there. I struggle heaps with big, busy and unknown places and thought I'd chosen somewhere easy enough to go on the map but it was a huge place and bananas packed full of people. Thoroughly enjoyed the racing and throwing games once we were in though. And Space Invaders 😁👍

Re: Taking the plunge
I loved Space Invaders when I was a kid @CheerBear and Pacman. They were my 2 favourites. Dad worked in the same building as a games hiring place so he often brought home the tables for us to play on - there was a way to counteract the money slot so we could play until we fell asleep some nights. It is funny to think about that now because neither my sister nor I actually like video games or games on phones etc. but I used to play the on the old Atari or games tables a lot when they first came out.
I hear you about noise and loads of people - it can be overwhelming so it is really great that you both had some time and Little got a lovely fluffy rainbow Llama reminder of the day together. I am surprised you had ice-cream and not gelato though ...still have images of a little care bear eating lemon and lime gelato ![]()
Cat is talking to me so it is her dinner time. Toby doesn't harass me for food but will get up when Cat starts talking. It is good that she is eating again - gives me a little hope.
I better feed her before she meaows the house down. I did feed her super early this morning as I was up and so was she so it is a while since she has eaten. She also came in for her night biscuits last night so the tablets are really helping. The vet is pretty sure the mass is pressing on her stomach and that has been making it increasingly difficult for her to eat even though she wants to - the tablets help with infalmmation and pain so whilst they won't fix her they are helping her to eat and be happy to do so.
Thank you so much for being here with me this afternoon CB - anytime I get some CB time in is a good day. I know you are going through a lot of really big stuff too so to take the time with me today has been pretty special. Anytime I can repay the favour just let me know. I don't get around the forum as much as I used to but do read along with you. Teej and you have a special bond that has formed and that is also wonderful to see - makes my heart sing that you have found that connection on here again ![]()
...and I can see it developing here with @Maggie too so doubly happy for you ![]()

Re: Taking the plunge
Growing up with Space Invaders and Pacman to play would have been so fun @Zoe7! Little really enjoyed both today, as well as Pong. It's great to see the older and simple games are still appreciated. They're timeless. I've just been running around with them with one of these (a ball popper toy)
Another something I remember as a kid. My sibling used to set them off and scare the heck out of me with them as they're so unpredictable and give a good 'pop' when they snap. Not sure if anyone else remembers/knows them?
Glad cat is eating and that the tablets are helping. I hope there's some peace in that for you. You did so well to recognise she wasn't right from a while ago. Shows how in tune you are with her. That will help you with this decision too, I'm sure.
It's been really lovely spending time with you this arvo also and thanks for your very kind words (including on checking in the other day - you made me teary in the loveliest way). I'm very thankful for many connections I have here. There's a big hole still but I feel full thanks to so many wonderful people, including yourself ❤
Better go feed my sugar hyped feral, who's looking awfully cute with giggles and chocolate ice cream face (still lol).

Re: Taking the plunge
I don't remember those poppers at all @CheerBear but look super fun. Toby would love those - might need to find one for myself.
I also remember Pong - that was an Atari game too - great for co-ordination 👍
Just posted some photos of Cat on Far and Away - check them out when you get time - she is such a beautiful cat both in looks and temperament 😺 ...but of course I am completely biased ![]()
I do get that big hole CB - I still feel it too but I am sure not as much as you - I can imagine it though as it would be exactly the same for me without F&H - some connections are super special and fill our hearts with joy just having them. Whilst no-one will ever replace that special bond you both had it is lovely to see you having those closer connections here again ...it actually means a lot to me that you have that because my heart really did hurt for you (and still does) for what you lost - super hard Hon but despite that you have continued to be a guiding light on here and that shows your character, strength and such a big heart. Sometimes life isn't about how hard we fall but how courageously we pick ourselves back up - and the people along the way that support us in doing that are worth their weight in gold - you have both that courage and value as a survivor and supporter - what more can you ask of yourself CB ![]()

Re: Taking the plunge
Posted at the same time. @CheerBear 😁😁 I’m the same. Once I adjust it good, it’s just adjusting.
Yesterday was a very mixed bag for me. I did to the cleaning and tidying I’ve been talking about for days, then met my neighbour for painting, that’s where it all went very wonky.
She arrived after a terrible, horrible no good very bad morning, saying, don’t expect much from me today. So we smiled that understanding smile and pushed on.
I reached for my paint and was met by a very close face. A new resident and, all disintegration from there.
