Makes perfect sense @Former-Member sorry if tagging you was the wrong thing to do. No need for a response at all.

Re: Taking the plunge

Cat is back to her usual happy self @CheerBear - she is sitting in the sun, asking for food and eating it all - it is hard to reconcile that with how bad the prognosis is and that is why I am having so much difficulty in making the decision. I want her to have the best quality of life - if we knew the surgery would have a positive outcome then I would do it in a heartbeat but if she has major surgery and it has spread then she will likely be in pain anyway ...it is so hard. All we want for our fur babies is for them to be happy and healthy.

How are your fur babies? Is Rocket cat still mischieveous?

Re: Taking the plunge

I'm glad cat is happy again today @Zoe7, but far out that's a huge one you've been dealt. I don't have many words for it as I get the giant-ness and the difficulty 🙁 The love you have for cat will guide you and I know that no matter what you decide to do it will be right because of that love. Super sad for you 🙁

My fur ones are doing well thanks and yep Rocket cat is bonkers. She's part puppy I think 😉 She has a thing for plugs and pulls them out of the sink, she launches herself at me and crawls on to my shoulders if I'm at the kitchen bench, bathroom sink, on the loo etc. She delivers presents (anything she can get into her mouth) to my bed while I'm sleeping so I find lots of surprises in there. I've caught her running with socks and taking them under my bed. Definitely half dog lol :face_with_rolling_eyes:😍

Re: Taking the plunge

Your description of Rocket cat made me giggle @CheerBear I can see her launching onto your back and the thought of that made me cringe ...little cat claws are painful. She certainly dogs seem half dog - especially with the socks. Toby used to move my socks from one room to another (when I left them on the ground) but he doesn't do that anymore. Cat will roll around under the clotheshorse and pull things off though she hasn't done that for a while. I have often come home to find a towel or jumper on the ground and her laying in the middle of it ...so naughty but so cute.

She loves bringing lizards inside to show me but I usually get to them quickly and put them back in the garden. She doesn't eat them, just plays with them - poor little lizards. We haven't had any of them for a while either - hopefully they are better at hiding than they used to be.

I think I am still in shock because it really was not at all what I expected. It is such a hard decision - on one hand I will do whatever I can to 'fix' her but on the other hand I don't want her to suffer in any way. I will need to talk to the vet again on Monday and find out a bit more. Her initial belief was that surgery may be too much for her but I pretty much shutdown after that so didn't take it all in - and definitely did not ask any questions. I am leaning towards surgery though and hoping it hasn't spread and we will have her for a bit longer ...but that might be me being selfish - I just don't know.

Re: Taking the plunge

I've had a few cats now @Zoe7 and Rocket wins the "utterly bonkers" award out of all of them 😆 I went to make a cuppa after my last post and saw her rummaging around in a showbag Little got from a visit to the arcade this afternoon. She came out with a Chupa Chup in her mouth looking at me like "nothing to see here" before racing off. She's still pretty small too and will probably stay that way now, which makes her big attitude even funnier I think. I adore her.

With all that adoration I have for mine, I have huge heart pain thinking of you and going through this with cat (who sounds gorgeous with the clothes and funny with her poor lizards). Your shutdown and shock makes sense and is a way of hitting pause on such a big decision. Smart brain of yours ❤ I don't know what I'd do either but I know it would mega hurt 🙁 She's a lucky cat to have you as her mumma. I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Re: Taking the plunge

Thanks CB. She does have her own room and not may cats have that - soooo spoilt lol - but worth every bit of that spoiling. It is a decision I have to make with my brain and I fear if my heart takes over it will not be the right decision - very much shutdown in that respect ...feeling it but not (if that makes sense).

My sister has a smaller cat very much looking like Rocket but with a squishier face - she is trouble as well! She is also a beautiful cat but can be very naughty - it must come with the colour I wonder if Rocket knows how to get that plastic off the Chupa Chup - they are tricky little things to undo - bet she manages it though. Does she still run up the curtains? I remember that was one of the first thing you posted about her when she was a kitten - seems she has not changed much which is also kind of nice. I love the kitten stage - they are so inquisitive and full of energy - maybe Rocket will always be a kitten at heart

How was your time at the arcade with Little @CheerBear Did you have fun as well?
