Re: Taking the plunge

So glad the appointment is over @Maggie Life is indeed a maze and some days we can find our way out and others we have to battle just to get to the next corner and continue to move on. Good to hear you are working through your anxiety - it is often not an easy thing to do so well done @Maggie

Thanks @Maggie - the feeling is mutual Hon

Do you have any plans for the rest of today?

Re: Taking the plunge

Not yet @Zoe7 catching up on Forumland. The sun is shining through my windows after a frosty start, warmth is nice for a start.

Re: Taking the plunge

The sun is out here too today @Maggie but it is still cold. Cat is outside sitting in the sun but Toby is asleep behind me on the couch - they are both adorable. How is your fur baby?

Re: Taking the plunge

On my knee @Zoe7. She's such a delightful little girl. A privilege to have. She had been abused before I got her and only trusts me. Very fragile. We so understand each other.

Re: Taking the plunge

Our fur babies are certainly so important for us - as we are to them @Maggie. I often wonder where I would be without mine but it is not a question I ask myself often because I know what the answer would be So glad to have them - the connection between Toby and I is certainly a very special one

How old is your girl?

Re: Taking the plunge

7 @Zoe7 she was 3 when I got her. I think she has PTSD. She had three very tough years but lives in a life of luxury now. I too know where I would be without her. Many a night I have only made it through ( only just) because of her.

Re: Taking the plunge

Same here @Maggie There have been some nights I thought my fur babies would be better off without me too - they have been the hardest nights My parents have a rescue dog - he is the most beautiful tempered dog now but was a bit of a hand full when they first got him. Apparently he had been chained up for most of his first 2 years. Now he has a huge property he can run all day if he chooses to. I fell in love with him the moment I saw him - and he runs straight to me when he sees me - maybe we can see something in each other that is similar - that feeling of trying to be free despite the shackles of the past!

Oh @Zoe7 the shackles. I feel like I'm the one doing time not the abusers.
