Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member I don't know how you are going to get through this week, but we all here will try to help in the best way we can. The situation with your daughter must be something that really touches your heart on a very deep level. She will be perfect working with young people, who better than someone with experience.
Yes it seems people are coming to your door atm, just be careful, people can be fickle, sorry to sound so negative but from experience hummm enough said.
My counsellor and I have done some deep work that's for sure. Excruciating painful, but it's worth it really. I honestly feel having DID makes me a FREAK in the MI labels. Very few understand and it's a very lonely road. I have even felt shame because of it. Strange isn't it how acceptance and non acceptance happens. But for me it's my reality and I just can't do anything about it.
I had a dig through my own songs yesterday, some from my Christian days, interesting really how life has such twists and turns in it.
Im sending warm thoughts your way hoping you are sleeping atm. Go gently if possible.💝💝💝

Re: Taking the plunge
Morning @Former-Member I'm wondering if you've seen @Former-Member Angel she recently finished??Theres a pic of it somewhere, she might, when she has time, repost it for you to see. Amazing work. Yea I understand reserving energy for other things, you just have to do what works for you. Your walks along the beach sound beautiful. Is it almost time for daughters graduation????? Did you manage to take the dress up? Sorry if I've missed it.
Yes fur baby hates bed during the day and I get very little sleep at night, while she snores. Lol
Another very overcast day here and more rain. I think we are headed for 19, possibly cool in your area. Take care whatever you decide to do.💜💜

@Former-Member@Former-Member I don't know if you've heard about the recent books being discussed in THE BOOK CLUB thread. Brene Brown is doing some good stuff for many, me as well, just waiting for books to arrive. Just thought if you haven't heard, you might like to join in. 😍😍😍

@Former-Member Sorry you are feeling so unwell. Sometimes just lying under the safety of a doona can be all that helps, hope it does. You don't have to answer this, just take care of you. Sending warm thoughts.❣❣

Re: Taking the plunge
Good afternoon dear @Maggie@Former-Member@IrTo and all
Anxiety is just horrible @Former-Member - so sorry to read that it afflicted you this morning. I struggled with it for so many years - battling nightmares every night and waking up shaking first thing in the morning. Everything I did from that point forward I had to push myself - it was draining but I sometimes felt better for it later in the day. It has improved somewhat recently but can still happen at times. Especially if I am worried about something or overstressed.
Did you manage to get some sleep? Do you feel abit better now? I hope so. I noted you enjoy walking on the beach - this is my favourite pastime. It helps soothe the nerves and uplift me. Getting about in nature helps me in many ways. I will post a picture under this post of my Angel cross stitch that @Maggie talking about. Hope your evening is more relaxing xx 🌹
Hi @Maggie
How are you this afternoon? Did you get out and about today or stayed-in cross stitching? As tired as I was yesterday I pushed last night to do some more of my cross stitch. I really enjoyed it and it helped me to sleep. Although I didn't get to sleep until 1:00am I did sleep - woke up at 6:30 but rolled over and decided to try and catch up on a bit more sleep (maybe an hour). I woke up at 11:00am!!! I nearly died. Hubby let me sleep as he knew I had none the night before so let me be. Feel much better for it but half the day was wasted. I ended up going to our new home location for a walk on the beach and I saw the building works have started. Not much longer now before we will be putting our existing house on the market! Looking forward to it.
No, I haven't seen the new book club. What does Breen write about? I am glad it's helping you 💕
Tomorrow at 10:30 am is hubby's epidural injection. I can message you from there. Thank you again for being there. My daughter is then coming over for dinner - think I will make a satay stir fry this time and stewed apples. She really misses us. Worry not for me my friend with people turning up at my door - if their intentions aren't good they won't be walking through it. I would not even allow my beloved daughter to disrespect me. That's where I draw the line in the sand.....thank you for your care. You are a good friend.
Please never think you are a freak. MI is what it is like any other illness. It's how we personally cope with it that matters. People can think what they may - they won't understand unless they have personally experienced MI. I may have already told you this but due to childhood abuse I suffered multiple personality disorder when young - and this was accompanied with psychosis (hallucinations, voices). It was the stuff of nightmares. It went on for awhile and I received no help as everything was covered up in my family. I have never had an episode like this since but carry the mental scars. I understand.
Please never let any MI or disease define you or others define you - we are unique individuals that no one can replace. You are a loving, giving, capable person who is talented at what you do and whom people warm to. You are special and a very good friend. What is important is that we start to arrive to a place that we can accept ourselves, believe in ourselves and the good in us and have peace with. Truly who are others to judge? Each to their own.
That's what I have been working towards all my life, inner peace - I think we all do in our own ways. Many so called normal people never realise or find the latter. Perhaps sometimes we have to go through hell to get to heaven - and to realise what is really important in life.
What were the name of the Christian songs you dug up? Thinking of you always 💜xx

Re: Taking the plunge
All the best with the appointment tomorrow.
Hubby must be in alot of pain to need an epidural injection. I had an epidural when I gave birth. Emergency ceserean.
I read a little about your daughter a while ago. I'm so pleased that she's doing well and enrolling in university.
That must male you feel so much better. It's amazing how it affects us when our children are going through stressful times.
And it's so good to read that your daughter has changed so much.
I didn't sleep much thus morning. Have been forcing myself to do things, mop etc...
Amazing how anxiety can come at night. I can sort of keep in in control during the day, but then the panic attacks come at night.
Lots going on here is what is causing it.
Lots of stressful things to deal with etc.
Anyway, I'd better keep moving.
Good that you slept in this morning.
I hope you're ok @Maggie 👋💜
