Re: Taking the plunge
Oh @Former-Member such a relief to hear I haven't hurt you. I've agonised about getting it taken down, but it's ok that you are ok with it. The reasoning behind it Is actually just what you are talking about, burn out. As abused children, we know how to care for everyone else but not ourselves, and we push and push then crash. I hear the warning signs already but have no idea as how I can help you, other than to point out the signs. I don't see them myself when caught in the caring for whoever comes along. You have no professional help, and I do know your husband loves you to bits, but is unwell and in survival mode. I don't want to take up the bits of time you have so will leave it here. Listen to little @Former-Member she's wise. Sending warm caring thoughts.💓💓💗💗

Re: Taking the plunge
I am happy that you have found the courage to share your story. You should be proud that you have found your voice which has been suppressed for far too long.
Sharing our ordeals and struggles will hopefully reach someone who is facing similar upheavals. May stories like yours make them realise that they are not alone, that there are people who not only empathise with them but will and can help them with their mental health issues.
Silencing and shaming has got to stop to make a better world for everybody. My very best wishes to you!

Re: Taking the plunge
I came on to say, I hope that you don't think that I'm avoiding you. Not at all. I often feel so low that I don't know what to say and I feel bad if I whinge about myself.
Most people seem to have developed good friendships on the forums and I don't like to intrude or push myself on anyone.
Hoping you're ok today.
I'm slow moving today. Only just put the washing on.
How's your day?
💟🌸🌼🌹

Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member I do that also, avoidance, thinking no one wants to hear about me, and I understand the feeling about pushing in also. There's no pushing in here @Former-Member you are welcome to talk about how you are feeling or whatever you feel comfortable with. I've been struggling this week end, but when I think about it, I seem to be struggling all the time. I'm sitting doing cross stitch, I haven't done any in weeks and can't be bothered doing anything else. It's windy here with rain forcast, so that's my excuse for not going out into the garden. Sending warm thoughts your way with the wind.💛💛💕💕

Re: Taking the plunge
I want to hear about you, but only what you're comfortable sharing.
I'd rather hear about others than myself. 😂
Happy to share my story/experiences when the time seems right.
I understand re the, no energy/no motivation.
I try and oush past it every day, but the mood often is hard to lift.
Yesterday I forced myself out for a walk at the beach, the mood followed.
Sometimes it goes, but not lately. It doesn't make sense.
Did a big food shop, nice to have fresh fruit etc.
What are you cross stitching at the moment?
Hoping to get out for a walk later.
Too hot now.
I think I'd like Tasmanian weather.
I've never been there. Have lived in Melbourne but I forget what cold feels like.
😮🌊🌞🌼🌻🐋🐳🐚🐙
Beach is good, just not the heat.

Re: Taking the plunge
Hi @Former-Member i went and had a lie down, never works, fur baby hates bed during the daytime, I guess that could be good. I'm doing a really simple cross stitch atm, something I don't have to count all the time. Il put a pic of it up. It's an Irish welcome written in Galicia with the English underneath once I get that far. A walk on the beach sounds nice, I wouldn't like the heat either, tassie weather is good for me and from what I hear, most who live here. It's quite and beautiful, lots of bush not far from the city. A big shop would have been really hard, I'm getting an order on Thursday, I get it delivered by Coles, shops and stuff freak me out too much and I just can't make up my mind what to buy!! I'll get a pic up for you.

Re: Taking the plunge
Hello @Former-Member and @IrTo - i really gained a lot from reading all your posts just now.
Hi @Maggie - you are right, I am starting to crash. The family visit went well but I actually nodded off while they were here. Not good. I have to slow down as I can feel the adverse physical effects. No chance of that this week though - not with all the appts and dinner engagements. If I let people down I will hurt them and I just can't do that. It's weird, I have felt lonely for so long, now it's like everyone wants to be near us both all at once. A tide is turning and its bewildering to me. I just hope I can keep it up!!
Your poem really spoke to me - the timing was perfect. It's like we are in tune. Do you feel that?
My daughter just went home and this was the first chance I had to post. We talk now like best friends. She is enroling into uni to do a psychology degree tomorrow - as well as working. She will be very busy - hope it won't be too much for her. She wants to be a youth worker - with what she has gone through and coming out the other end so well she would be great at it I feel. She really misses us and wants to be with us a lot now. When she was living here she never came near us!! She now realises what she had. I even thought she didn't love us there for a long time as she treated us so badly. Life is full of surprises.
Good to read that you were doing some cross stitch. It looks like it is coming along beautifully. Cross stitch gives me so much joy - I miss it as time is not allowing it for me lately. Sounds like the weather took a wet and cold turn for you down in Tassie. Very hot and humid here but with a lovely cool breeze. Rain is predicted this week which we really need.
You seem to be going ahead now @Maggie in leaps and bounds with self expression. And you also tune into my deepest pain at times - no one has done that with me before, not when it comes to my childhood. I didn't think anyone would understand that...I think you do. The helplessness and numbness back then and which can hit momentarily for me sometimes now was unimaginable. To have someone for the first time tap into that leaves me speechless (which is rare lol) - it feels great as it makes me feel less alone as @IrTo said and was so spot on. So good to read the insight and thoughts of others here. Hope this post finds you @Former-Member@IrTo@CheerBear@Maggie and all having a relaxing evening. Now all I need to do is sleep tonight as I couldn't last night. Not a good sign. 🤗

Re: Taking the plunge
You are very clever.
Amazing work.
I have some unfinished craft in the cupboard 😮
I've lost all motivation to do craft, hoping it comes back.
I keep my energy to do things with my daughter. Eg, shopping for bargains 😀
Or ealk at the beach. Lunch out etc....
We had a big walk at a different beach late this afternoon.
Sounds like furbaby won't let you sleep during the day. I hope that means you'll sleep well tonight.
Thunder is close by here. 🌈⚡💧☔☁
Hope it passes by.
Hi there @Former-Member 😊
Look forward to getting to know you. 🌸🌼🌹🌻🌺🌷
