Re: Taking the plunge
I know what you mean by the importance of being happy for our children @utopia, especially at Christmas. I am having to do the same. Have you spoken to your psychiatrist about the drop in mood? Extreme weather can do it as our physical health takes a beating, but best to be safe and speak to someone if it goes on too long my friend. You are lucky with that storm as the rain it graces will cool things down a lot for you and hopefully bring a bit of a lift in mood. Please let us know how you go. 💕

Re: Taking the plunge
@Former-Member We do feel pain with those close to us. One day at a time is the way to go, it's all we really have.
I will be recording my own songs, I have a few others also, but it's to get my songs out there. If it all works out, I might put one on utube and see how it goes. It's just pocket size, with built in mic. We might see if students at tafe would like a challenge. It's mostly talk atm but it's happening. I was putting it all away last week as a lost cause and it might well be just that, but it will be a challenge. It should arrive in the next three weeks.
You have a good man there @Former-Member noticing you are struggling and cooking tea, very kind in deed.
I might have to gather a few more candles, but in the meantime, here we are reaching out to each other. You too @utopia@Former-Member@Former-Member

Re: Taking the plunge
That's the downside of thunderstorms @utopia - leaving us in the dark. Sorry to read of your predicament. It's then I truly realise how dependent I am on electricity - I get a bit lost without my iPad, TV or no light to enable me to sew or read. I nearly go round the bend in boredom as my mind needs so much stimulation and distraction. The traps of modern day living I suppose. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you - good to read that you will be seeing your psychologist and psychiatrist this week for support. I wish I could find a good psychologist - even just to talk things through for emotional support. Hard to find good listeners in real life I find.
Hope you feel better after your walk this evening @Former-Member
Will your step children and grandchildren be staying at your home over Christmas @Former-Member? I think I recall you saying they were going to visit around then. That will be a special time for you and your husband. I hope tomorrow will be a bit easier for you xx
I loved your photo @Maggie - it was powerful. We do seem to be all fighting our own individual battles presently and it's makes it that bit better to see it through together. My husband is thoughtful - we support each other and it works well. I can't tell him everything though because he has his own stressors - so this forum is a good outlet for me.
I think the tafe students would love to get there teeth into your songs - is the lotus flower one of them? Those lyrics really stuck in my mind. Nothing is a lost cause if we give it a go and enjoy it. Just the challenge and the motivation that challenges brings are worth it. You are very talented - it will be very interesting to see where it all leads - please keep us updated;, but regardless you achieved what you set out to do and will have fun doing it. A win, win.
I am flaked out on my bed already at 8:30 - very unusual for me. I feel so drained. Hopefully will sleep better tonight as I have a volunteers afternoon tea to attend tomorrow. Not looking forward to going in this heat but must make an effort for the morale of other workers. Wish me luck as I will need it 😀 Goodnight @Maggie

Re: Taking the plunge
I wouldn't mind no tv or internet - if I could read or do Sodoku puzzles.
The temperature outside has fallen to around 20°. Inside house temperature still high though. Starting to get tired - so hoping I may sleep tonight.
