Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member Not too hot here, overcast with a nice breeze. I do feel for you all up there in the heat, I can't even imagine 40. I'm pushing up hill after a short break yesterday, gosh it's hard going isn't it. Cuppa sounds good @Former-Member try to put your feet up and relax. Thinking of you.

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Former-Member

Anxiety is horrible, makes everything harder. Thanks for sharing the situation with your daughter - it takes a big person to admit that. I think this time of year doesn't help our depression at all. Great idea to go for walk on the beach - I have to push myself all the time and always feel better for it.

Your daughter didn't become a great kid on her own - she had a great mum guiding her. Don't be too hard on yourself. The best thing to do when we feel we are going to snap etc when stressed (I feel like that a bit at the moment), is to get out for a walk, especially in nature (beach is great for soothing the emotions), or just out of the house for a bit. Great thinking @Former-Member. Hope you feel better this evening after doing so. Please let us know how you feel later on. Here for you 💕

Re: Taking the plunge

I do have the air conditioner on @Former-Member - I don't think I would survive this heat without it. Goodness help us when January/February hits 😫

Re: Taking the plunge

Thanks @Former-Member. Just having a 'why me' moment @Former-Member. Worrying my depression is coming back.
Just then I lost my little dog. Had to go hunting for her in 39° heat. Speant 46 minutes looking for her all over the neighborhood and there she was, hising in our zincalume garage (not even a cool place).
Feel emotional and want to cry but nothing comes out. Think I'm turning to stone.

She wasn't hissing. She was hiding.

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member I'm also very good at blocking emotions and don't usually know the reasons for the falls. Struggling today, but the glimmer of hope comes and goes. I can well imagine how your friends situation is weighing heavily on your mind, a difficult path to walk, and this time of year brings all sorts of extra stressors.

My hearing aids are in all the time apart from sleeping. I can't hear a thing without them, nothing. Even with them in I can't hear behind me, I'm greatful to be able to hear what I do. As its been like this for over 30 yrs, I'm well used to it, don't know any different.

Regarding meeting friends and clicking, I've thought I had friends in the past but all have walked, I'm too messed up now and more closed off than ever, and I was bad to start with. Lol.

Well @Former-Member I have ordered a mini recording studio!!!!!! It's done!!!!!! The last time I made a cd it was microphones, large CD player and another recorder. Everything has shrunk and I just can't get my mind around it. Willing to give it a go. I can sing onto the machine, then pass it on for musicians to add their instruments, too much for this little mind I'm afraid.

Like I said to @Former-Member i feel for you all in the heat, that can make you feel awful without all the extras. I guess you'll be cooking a meal now!!!!! Yes there are special people who come into our lives, your husband and friends, my social worker. Though I struggle with the word love, acceptance has been amazing for me.

Thinking of you and hoping a cool breeze blows over the sea.💕💜

@Former-Member I don't want to drag you into a conversation you might not want to be in, but want to let you know I'm thinking of you. I know it's tough dear lady. Warm thoughts.💜💕

Re: Taking the plunge

Sending a warm hug @utopia. What makes you think the depression is coming back? Was there any triggers? The extreme heat doe not help either.

I do understand how you feel - when I woke up anxious this morning I immediately said to my husband - "I can't go back there". When feeling low or anxious it can bring it all back....But I don't think we will ever sink to those depths again @utopia - we have come too far. But those bumps are unnerving. Could this time of the year be having an effect on you? Glad you found your dog - hope you feel better this evening. Here for you 🌹

Re: Taking the plunge

My husband has kindly offered to cook tea tonight - he knows I am struggling a lot today. I think it may be the pain of what my friends are going through. As everything else is okay for now. My daughter is on work cover at the moment and her work life uncertain - so this could also be playing on me. I can only live a day at a time for now...

Wow - a mini studio!! Way to go @Maggie. I am so glad you bit the bullet and did that - it will be so much fun and you never know what might come of it. Are you recording all your own songs? This is quite exciting - please keep me in the loop to how it goes. When do expect delivery? I wish I could hear the end result. Which songs are you recording?

Just heard the weather forecast and over the next week it will get hotter. Please do a rain dance for me lol. xx

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member have been feeling low for a few days. No trigger. I worry when I start feeling low, especially for a few days in a row.
Just makes me feel I'm on the edge of depression again. And it's only 6 days til Christmas and I don't want to be sick anytime, but especially not at Christmas. I have to provide my son with a good happy Christmas, as this year has been awful for him, with me being so sick with my MI.
Afraid it's coming back.
The big storm should hit us within 30 minutes. Bringing cool weather. I might stand out in it. I'm so hot and uncomfortable.
Just a big whingy day.
