Re: Taking the plunge

Thankyou @Former-Member 💜 @Maggie 💕 for your messages

I'm feeling really flat and teary. D and I have been arguing alot lately and its really bothering me, plus this time of the year is really hard for me.
I'm really concerned about our arguing, long story. There's more to it.

Thankyou so much for the gift of love and friendship @Former-Member 💜💕 that you mentioned on the other thread. Same back to you and others here. 😙💟

Boy, it's hard being a mum. I never knew. 😮😣😨
I want to retire from.being mum, but I can't.
Bl#### hard.

Re: Taking the plunge

That must be really hard for you @Maggie
Not being able to hear.
You aren't odd and definitely don't come across as odd.
You sound like a lovely kind and caring person. 💜💕
You communicate well on here.
I remember being so shy that I could hardly speak and my face would go red.
It's an awful feeling
I'm alot better now, but I don't like being in a group situation.

Gosh! I hate myself lately. I feel so useless. I know I'm not, but I feel it.
I feel like I'm losing D sometimes, because of this :pile_of_poo::pile_of_poo::pile_of_poo::pile_of_poo::pile_of_poo::pile_of_poo: complex PTSD
I hate this so much. I just want to be well amd it seems impossible

@Former-Member @Former-Member @Maggie @utopia @ anyone
Does anyone feel the same, like its pointless trying. I hate this time of the year. I want to disappear
I'll get over it. 😢o

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member .....there is a reason I refer to my kidults as baby dragons ..... if you sneak a look behind D’s ears when she is sleeping, you will probably find she is growing some scales .... and some wings on her back .....

Thery are trying out their adult independence and it causes them to sho-ot off at the mouth ..... breathe fire unexpectedly .... and burn their mama ...... then they will walk back in an hour or two later and strike up conversation like nothing has happened .... :face_with_rolling_eyes: .... then if you try to revisit the earlier conversation to clear the air a bit .... YOU get told off like you’re the child ..... 😳 ....

Try to put it all down to growing (groaning) pains ..... I went and had five of them, didn’t I ??!

Re: Taking the plunge

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope 💜
I don't have the energy. Plus I'm good at blaming myself for everything.
No matter what I do, I feel like it's not enough.
5 😮😣😨 gosh
One is plenty 😂
I did want 2, but I can see that I'm not well enough to cope with much.
Hope your coping ok/well.
I know it's not easy for you.

D is all I have and I worry that I'mpushing her away.

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie - yes the girlfriend is lucky. They've just spent the afternoon at the local pool together with a few mates.
@Former-Member - I worried that I was hurting my son - especially when I was at the sickest point. But he seems quite okay. And we are talking better than we have in years.
Hold on and you will see - you and your daughter will be fine.

Re: Taking the plunge

You have put in all the groundwork for the relationship @Former-Member ..... and now it is coming under the strain of teenage testing...., just keep to your course and she will straighten up again. It is scary trusting that that is going to happen, but it does. You have raised her well, and she will show you that in good time.

A psych who gave a talk at one of our schools a few years ago said that this is the age range (into the early 20's) is the biggest growth era of the brain, and these kids are flooded with hormones .... like they have suddenly got a Ferrari brain and do t know how to drive it, so they go a bit emotionally berserk .... and sleep a lot ..... staying up late, then dying to sleep in till lunchtime.

So don't be surprised by any of that ..... take it as normal, and trust to your parenting. Keep the goalposts where they are.

Re: Taking the plunge

The hard part is, I've been unwell since she was born @utopia
It never ends amd I'm worried I'll never be well enough to do something I want to do. I use all my energy into being a mum and have zero left for myself.
Sorry, it's just a really :pile_of_poo: day. Some days are just worse than others.
She's a pretty good girl @Faith-and-Hope I'm just p##### off at myself and feel like my life is/has and always will be useless.
There's been some good, but I've struggled most of my life. Not young anymore and realizing that I'll always feel like :pile_of_poo:

Sorry, I'm really venting now. Just picked D up and am hiding in my room.
What the heck is wrong with me?

Each year, I think, I'll be ok this Christmas. I'll make sure I'll be positive etc. Every year this happens, same time, same emotional roller coaster. Wow!

Thanks again for reading my rubbish 💜💕

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member - it's not Christmas yet. One week to go. Your mood may lift before then. And try not to dwell on what has happened in the past. Leave it there. You haven't lived this Christmas yet. You may just be surprised.
