Re: Taking the plunge

Thank you @Former-Member those are beautiful words.
Sorry to hear the shop didn't have proper cooling. Don't think I could handle that even at 35°. Not that and hot flushes. lol.
Just under 2 weeks til Christmas. The other day I told my son - 15 - not to go in my room as I was wrapping Christmas presents. He replied none of them should be for him because he just wants cash!!!
Told him sorry, I don't believe in cash only for 15 year olds & that he would just have to suffer through Christmas morning like the rest of us - unwrapping presents. lol

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Maggie - Just popping in to say hello and to see if you are okaish. I am still going with the real estate agents - they are all so crooked, it's not been a pleasant experience.

My friend has stage 4 cancer and it is also in his hip. So this has hit me hard.

My daughter continues to be mature wanting to pay her own debts and stand on her own two feet, saying this when my husband offered to help. So that's a positive. And while she is off work she is my bingo buddy haha.

I am off from my volunteering now until the end of January so should get a lot more walking, gardening and stitching done 😊

What are you up to today? Will you see your social worker before Christmas? 💗

Hi @utopia

Our you g ones know what they want today lol. I use to love the surprise element of what was under the tree when young. My how times have changed. The time spent together will create nice memories and they will see that when they look back. My daughter at 21 is just starting to realise this now. She is just now starting to mature.

Yes the hot flushes and heatwaves do not mix - I am in the process of coming off my HRT hoping mine don't come back!! At 56 I sure hope not. How is your day going?

Wishing you, @Maggie@Bunniekins@Former-Member@Former-Member@Faith-and-Hope@Former-Member@Sans911@TAB@outlander@CheerBear@Appleblossom@frog and all a very joyful Christmas and a New Year full of hope and peace where dreams are realised ❤️ Merry Christmas

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member nice to hear from you. Yes I think it takes our kids until they are in their 20's to mature and to appreciate their childhoods.
Weather getting hotter again after only one mild day.
Just did some grocery shopping. Had run out of meat. And as my son tells me, he's a carnivor. Lol.
reading a book and might take a nap soon.
I hope your day is going well and that it continues that way.
♥

@utopia hahahaha! MY mother doesn't do cash because she knows I will spend it on food lol! We decided upon some lottery tickets and if we win we will buy an island somewhere (or at least I will) and never see another solitory person again!

Re: Taking the plunge

@greenpe. That's always been my wish. To buy an island. That way I don't have to see or deal with any idiots. Ahhh dreaming of a tattslotto win!

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member I think I have joined the road workers, just rolling out tar with my feet not a roller. Tough going here, no let up, just hanging on I'm afraid. Saw my social worker this morning and she is bringing a mobile party next Friday, so a Christmas party is on its way.

Sorry to hear your friend has stage 4 cancer, you are right, he's in for the fight of his life. I have no doubt you will stand beside your friends, a most important place to be. You are a good friend.

Things sound to be good with D also a positive, well done both of you.

Sorry I can't say much, battling with everything right now, but wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. Take care.

Re: Taking the plunge

Hello @utopia
We reached 39 degrees yesterday with high humidity - today was slightly cooler at 27, but still muggy. Lol, your son sounds like he has a good sense of humour, my kind of person. What book are you reading presently? I do enjoy a good book. I am reading the old classic novel by George Orwell "1984". The foresight he had into future technology and politics was just short of amazing. It's a very interesting read. Have a relaxing evening ❤️

I would love to join you on that island @Bunniekins. The owner of Virgin airlines, Richard Brampton, owns and lives on one. He had the right idea. When his Island was hit by a cyclone, he went to his underground basement living and survived whilst all was demolished. It would be nice to have all that money in the sense of the choices it can give, and I would give away the rest. I did live on a farm that was surrounded by thousands of acres and it was a long way from civilisation/towns. The draw backs are there is no public transport, takes 30 mins to the nearest shop and there is no adequate medical facilities. I had to be very active in the community to stop the isolation from sending me batty - it can do that. But it was some of the best years of my life.....

My daughter is growing stronger and more mature @outlander - this time last year was a very different story. She has made a very big turnaround. There was a time there not long ago that we didn't think she would make it, so we are overjoyed. We have been very busy with real estate agents lately and are already am feeling the stress of it......wouldn't want to go through it again. Hope you are doing okay 💕

Hi @Maggie

Sorry to read you are still doing it tough. Are you still working in the garden? Your social worker is so wonderful - a mobile Christmas party, how does that work? Sounds like it will be a real blast. She does go that extra mile - very special. We will be attending a Christmas afternoon tea for volunteers this Wednesday which should be nice.

Had such a busy day speaking to and ringing real estate agents - I feel very stressed presently. You were right about the stress of moving. I think I have found one agent that I am more confident with and managed to get a better commission percentage and deal with - I never want to go through this again and it's only the beginning!! Hoping this next move will be our last. It's nerve wrecking and apparently the market has dropped. One day at a time now..

My friend is in for the fight of his life. I was finding it hard to accept this reality and was feeling low about it, but I have vowed to myself to stay positive for them. We will be visiting next Sunday and will just act normal and happy - this will give him and his wife more hope. I hope it will be enough to ease their pain even just a little - I never believe I am enough and probably I am not, but I have to try. I care about them.

Never apologise for not saying much, hearing from you is enough. I hope the New Year brings you peace and times of joy. Tomorrow is a new day and a new beginning 😊xx

Re: Taking the plunge

Yes @outlander - am sitting back in my recliner with a slight stress headache, but enjoying the cool breeze wafting through. So nice to feel against my face. Then I will read my book and hope to nod off soon. How are spending your evening?
