Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Maggie

I had a chuckle as I imagined fur baby Maggie May with a dentastix hanging out of her mouth haha

And as a result

Haha - that is just tooooo cute @Maggie.

Wow your purple flower is gorgeous - so healthy and blooming it's little head off. It looks a lot like "Blue Moon" - one of my favourite roses. The others would be "Double Delight" (to die for as a standard and the scent out of this world....) and "Seduction". I had a apricot weeping standard rose "Crepsule" and a pure white standard weeper "Seafoam". My pride and joy....until a strong wind snap them both in half. I am still not completely over it....

Weeds are evil, truly lol. They thrive amongst anything. But once you get them all out the end result is all worth it. One thing that helped keep them under control for me was ground covers....not sure if that is practical for you though. Convolous (Morning glory) is a good one amongst many to choose from with bright blue flowers.

I see life's obstacles as weeds. Push through them, jump over or cut them out, to get to that beautiful carpet of colour is life's perfume of peace. Always comes in that order.

I have had a few house evaluations - then having to clean continuously to have the roof looking like a show room for open house or appt inspections - all a pain in the rectum. Then there is the moving....extremely stressful, but the light at the end for me is that the move will be to something better - the dream hoping it will last. The only placed I have been happy to live in ever, for the first few years, was the farm...then a mining company came and destroyed our peace there. I am so tired of moving and I so hope this new home and area is where I finally really belong. The latter is so important to me - more than the house itself etc. For me it's so much more than a roof, if that makes sense. A place where I can feel comfortable and safe enough to finally call home and stay put. Peace inside and out is what I strive for so here's hoping. 😀

Yes, Home and away finishes this week - my husband will have withdrawal symptoms for the next 6 weeks 😫😝. xxxx ❤️

Hi @Maggie@Former-Member@Former-Member@Bunniekins@utopia@Faith-and-Hope and everyone - hope your day went well.

How are you @Maggie? - I hope you are okay. I did go to bingo with my daughter and one of my friends turned up too. Had a really good day - didn't win this time though but daughter did which was great because she needed the money. She is in a lot of debt so not sure how she will last living outside of home. She is trying...I would like it to remain this way as we get on so much better living apart. I couldn't go back to the way it was. She gets an MRI soon and hopefully she can get back to work soon before she goes under.

Your rose was so beautiful - Your whole garden is such a joy to see, hope to see more pics when you can. I hope you are doing alright as I think of you a lot. Sending a warm hug 🤗

Hi @Former-Member - I have been thinking of you a lot too wondering how things are for you. It must be really hard. How has today been for you? I am looking forward to creating a social group when I move. Starting a new chapter in my journey. I socialised today in an environment where I felt comfortable and it really does help boost my mood. I hope you are okay. ❤️

Hi @Former-Member - I just read your post on the other thread and will respond shortly - it must be such a struggle for you. You are such a beautiful person..., to think of what you went through hurts. Sending a big warm hug.

Sending a warm hello to @utopia@Bunniekins and @Faith-and-Hope - hope all is well in your world. How has your day been?

Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member I have had a great day thank you. Staying cool inside will venture forth once the sun goes down a bit for a walk. We have been celebrating the festive season and @Zoe7 quiet birthday so it has been a good day here. I am really happy that it has been a good day for you too.

Re: Taking the plunge

Hello @Former-Member bingo sounds like a fun day out. I haven't been in years. Lucky your daughter had a win.
I've had a nice day today. Mum and I went shopping in the big town. Finishing the Christmas shopping.
Now I just have to get some special chocolates and biscuits for the odd unexpected drop in. Or whoever I've forgotten.
Very hot today in country Victoria. Lying on my bed with ceiling fan and evaporative cooling on. Soooo much nicer. Tomorrow is meant to be 39°. Ouch!

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Former-Member I'm wading around in tar atm, seems I just can't keep myself out of this pit.

Good to hear Daughter won at bingo. You are right, if she returned home things might go backwards, and you have both moved forward since the move. Fingers crossed she will manage to pay her bills off in time.

I'm working on my lawn atm, or lack of lawn. It's mostly weeds and I'm trying to produce grass. The garden is going well, much better than I expected. I will get a few pics for you later.

The move will be stressful, one of the top stress levels in life. Hopefully your forever home. I moved twice in 18mths, and it really took its toll. If you can get help it would make things easier, but finding it is difficult.

I liked the pics of dogs with Dentastix. My little girl looks so funny because she's so small and it sticks out like a cigar.

Good luck with the cleaning and inspection. Give yourself some breaks. Warm thoughts.

Hi to everyone else. @Former-Member@Former-Member, hope you are hanging in there

Re: Taking the plunge

@Maggie - you have such a wonderful way of describing a situation - wading around in tar, truly it can feel that oppressive - I do the same and relate. But we won't stick while we keep the tar from setting as we soldier on through. I always feel better on my return from my volunteering and a fun day out at bingo. Sounds so simplistic I know but true. And ofcourse my cross stitch and gardening gives me a lift forward.

How are you going today? Is it very hot in Tassie now or has it cooled down. Summer has really hit now and I am feeling it...but have to keep cleaning tomorrow as the agent is coming over at 4:30. It's the last thing I feel like doing in this heat. Today was my last day at the shop until the end of January, so will have more me time for awhile.

I received a sad phone from my male friend with cancer, his lung cancer is stage 4 and he has cancer in his hip. It's inoperable but he will start radiation therapy as soon as possible. Not good. But between the best medical treatment on offers and prayer I feel he will beat it. My personal feeling.....he is in formthe fight of his life. I hope I can help my friend (his wife) through this. She never admits how she is feeling or ask for help. And it's sometimes hard to know the right thing to say. But I will try.

Hope you are enjoying this evenings one hour episode of Home and Away. Enjoy your evening my friend.

Hi @Bunniekins - great to read that you are enjoying your time on the Christmas cheer and Zoe's birthday threads. The forum can be fun - I am enjoying it also. Wishing you and yours a very joyful and peaceful Christmas 🎄 ❤️

Hi @utopia - I do enjoy time out with my friends and daughter at bingo. It's a lot of fun - and winning even more fun lol! You are Sounding so much better - so glad you had a nice day out with your mum. What you bought is making me hungry lol. I just can't resist my chocolate coated peanuts at this time of year - oh well there's goes my diet 😜. I hope you are surviving that heat in country Victoria and staying cool. We reached a high of 35 today, I was sweltering in the shop where I volunteer today. Thought I was going to pass out a couple of times (the shop is very small and does not have adequate cooling). But I soldiered on and so glad I did as I love the work I do and the people who come in. Wishing you a very happy and relaxing Christmas Day my friend. You hold a special place in my heart and every post you write to me means a lot x
