Re: Taking the plunge

@Former-Member Nothing wrong with being average I say, I am average too ... we might have to work hard but I know of alot of these super intelligent students who have massive iqs but fail because they have rested on their intelligence their whole lives.

I have gone back to uni but online ... I remember in my last degree I got an HD I nearly flipped! I was so happy!!!!

BUT that is not what gets me out of bed in the mornings ... what gets me out of bed is there has to be something more than this. I am quite a spiritual person (not religious) I want to do something to help the environment, wildlife, animals in general that kind of thing ... the time is not right yet but it will come and when it does BANG! I will be off and I cannot wait.

Re: Taking the plunge

Oh, gosh. I think my lecture is trying to call me. I failed uni this semester and he is helping me try and withdraw from the unit and not fail. He is so lovely, but I'm just so scared and anxious and paralysed by the whole thing.
It's just too much to deal with right now.
YAY for uni! What are you studying? What was your first degree in may I ask?
That sounds super exciting. I find myself feeling quite spiritual around nature too. I like taking long hikes (5-10 days long) and just being a part of nature. A tiny little speck of human surrounded by a sea of nature. I kinda like the feeling of being at one with the bush. Makes me feel good.

Wow! 5-10 day hikes!!! OMG! You must be fit! that is not for the faint hearted. Is that up hilly terrain??

I love anything to do with the universe that we are a tiny speck of space dust of little consequene makes me feel better when I am stressed. I love what you said 'a tiny speck of human in the sea of nature' tis a similar thing and wonderful!

I studied a BA years ago I am redoing it just with different subjects as it has been so long and my brain is well .... not the same as it used to be unfortunately. Make the most of your young brain lol!

I'm not fit now, I'm very very not fit. But I used to be, and give me 6 months and I plan to be fit again. Just to get off my bottom!
What do you plan to major in?

Archeology! How fantastic. You will be travelling the world to all these interesting places. I am a bit envious but as I say in a good way. Psychology.

@Former-MemberI've been thinking about a name for your craft adventure. The cross stitch I'm doing is Cead Mile Failta, one hundred thousand welcomes,in galic.Or if you don't want such a big one, just Failta, welcome. Hope your day has gone well. I'm ready for neighbours and home and away!!!!

Re: Taking the plunge

Hi @Maggie

I like your suggestion for a name - something different and inviting. I will definitely keep it in mind. I can't believe I am going to do it - normally I would think it wasn't something I could pull off but I figure I have nothing to lose. It will be interesting to see if there are others out there who have the same needs for whatever reason.

I like the suggestion of a walking group too @Former-Member@Former-Member - good idea!. I don't have a dog because I don't have the time to give a fur babie the love and attention he/she deserves (cats are far more independent) - dogs to me are like children, they need that extra care. It always upsets me to see them lonely, bored and neglected locked up in small backyards and never let inside 😢. They are family to me - I use to have two dogs on the farm. I will be living on the sea when I move, so walking along there in a group would work well - and then back to mine for morning tea would be fun. Thank you for the wonderful suggestion 😀.

They started getting our new home site ready today to start building in the New Year - Yay!!! 😀I having been running around town today - getting my hair cut and taking daughter to get her phone fixed, last minutes Christmas buying etc. Then coming home to madly starting cleaning and getting the house in tip top shape for the real estate evaluation on Thursday. Am going to bingo with my daughter tomorrow which I am looking forward too. Then most of the week will be mostly cleaning, garden clean up etc. We hope to be putting our current home on the market early next year.

My physical health has improved since I started the healthy diet I was telling you about before @Maggie. It really is making a difference thank goodness. I think that diet will be broken on Christmas Day though lol. It will be just the three of us on Christmas Day - we have booked a table for a buffet Christmas lunch at our local club. Easy and no fuss. Went there last year and the food was nice - so am looking forward it. I hope you will treat yourself with some yummy special treats on Christmas Day. @Phoenix_Rising's Christmas thread would be a fun one to hang about on that day too - what a wonderful idea it was for a thread.

My husband is fixing himself some dinner tonight just in time for Home and Away - he never misses an episode. Enjoy your evening my friend - you deserve some joy in your life xxxx

Re: Taking the plunge

That's exciting @Former-Member getting the new home site ready. You will be able to watch it develop. Walks along the beach will be a lovely start or finish to your day, healthy also.

You are right about dogs being another child, or an only child. I don't like to see them neglected either, they deserve better. My girl has been walking around with a Dentastix in her mouth, cute.

Humm a cleaning week ahead and evaluation, that will be stressful no doubt. Will it be done once? I've never owned a home, so, have no idea about evaluations, just flat inspections. I haven't had one here yet!! Something to look forward to no doubt.

A day out with daughter tomorrow at bingo sounds like a good plan to me, I hope you win, you are usually lucky.

I sprayed my front lawn this morning. It's full of weeds, and will take the rest of my life to dig out, so I have a pet friendly spray. Hope it works. I'll do the back tomorrow if not windy.

I'm glad your health has improved. I don't think Christmas Day will make too much difference, relax and enjoy yourself with good company.

I took a pic of my purple rose this morning, will post it at the end.

No neighbours this week, must be finished for the year, home and away finishes this week. I can see I'll be playing music in the evenings to come, and reading, I have plenty to read atm.

I hope you have a relaxing evening.
