Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me

@Former-Member, I'm going to post on my respite thread, but I know you want to stay here, so I'll tell you what happened. Today's been emotional, but everything has worked out okay. I got a distressing text from my house mate this morning which made me really anxious, and I realised I would have to talk to her today. But I spoke to the head nurse (he took me out for coffee,☺️) who helped me talked through some strategies & asked to call him later in the week. And my mh case manager rang on the way home & we also discussed what/how I was going to do things. When I came home she was out the back crying. I unpacked, then asked her to come inside & have a chat. I told her she had to come up with next weeks rent or leave by Sunday. She said she had someone who will lend her money on Thursday. I encouraged her to go to Centrelink & ask for urgent payment. Her pride has always stopped her doing this. So I drove her there (I had to sign papers anyway re:her portion of rent) and stayed until she sorted it out. She gets a payment tommorow with a bit extra for food. She looks really terrible, and is actually quite ill with a fever, and has hives from stress. So of course I did my nurse thing and got her some antihistamines. She'll transfer the rent money tommorow and pay me back for the cigarettes & meds. So I didn't have a meltdown, I didn't need to leave the house to get some space, we chatted a bit more at dinner, and it's hopefully going to be alright. She owes me a lot of money for past rent, more than she realised, but when she gets work, we'll make a payment plan for that. I'm pleased with how things went. And my foster sister insisted on loaning me money for other bills I had outstanding, which is a big help.

I'm still feeling ok, I've have slipped back, and I'm really worried I will, but I just need to stop isolating so much. I have a retreat planned this weekend which I'm looking forward to (been planned for ages) and Ive signed up to go sailing next week. So slowly finding me way out of the darkness back to some sort of life. Long, long roads to go yet. I don't know quite what's ahead, and I don't like that. So I just have to have some trust. And try to stay alive

Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me

Thank you @Sans911 for posting your update here, but for you, I would have come to your page!

I am so glad that things are looking up at home with your house mate. Must have been a difficult conversation to have. But you do not need the pressure of paying for everything whilst looking after your own well being. And of course you helped her with her illness, because that is you Sans, such a caring soul.

I am also pleased to hear that your foster sister is helping you out. Hopefully this is one less thing to worry about in the short term.

This head nurse and case manager sound lovely to me. Hopefully you can keep in contact with this head nurse, since you seemed to have formed a very trusting and respectful realtionship with him. It woul be good if it is someone you can call if you feel the need for that extra support.

I am also glad to hear you have NOT slipped back. I know you were super worried about that. There are still going to be hard days of course, we all have them, but hopefully the good days outweigh those super hard days. The retreat this weekend sounds good and sailing, WOW, never tried that before, that should be fun.

I find it scary too, not knowing the future. Some of my future will be decided tomorrow. I have to see a work cover psychiatrist who will decide if my work cover goes ahead or ceases. Which I am dreading because I don't know what to expect and I am afraid I will close down like I normally do, tell him everything is fine like I normally do, and than have my work cover claim cancelled.

But the future is scary Sans, however I believe you have got a bright future ahead of you. So what ever you do to help yourself stay alive, I'll be right there cheering you on and helping you from afar as much as I can. Because you do matter and you are important Sans

Thanks for your help today

@Former-Member you don't realise how often you make me smile. In the midst of all your worries, you still have the loveliest things to say to others. Thank you.

BTW, what did you tell your children. I saw something about that earlier. And please be as honest as you can with your work cover pdoc tommorrow. You need lots of help, it will be a bit of a journey to healing & recovery, and deserve the best of care. Try not to shut down. Otherwise you might hear on your shoulder tugging on your hear saying 'are you listening to me'? Lol.

Re: RE: Darkness surrounds me

@Sans911, I could say the same for you also. Sometimes I really hate this anonymous stuff. Think we could sit down in person and talk for ages, but this will have to do!!

Hubby ended up working late so I ended up telling them myself. I just sat them down and just said straight out that my Aunty J died this morning. Told them that sometimes we know before hand that they are going to die, like their Grandpa (my Dad) and sometimes they die and it comes as a shock like it did today.

I know they are kids but I think they just need to hear to outright instead of skimming the edges. I was also honest with them when my father passed away but that being said, they went and said goodbye to him in hospital 4 days before he passed.

So Mr 9 was ok, Miss 12 was upset. I told them that we will do the same as we did for Grandpa, they can write her a letter and we will put it in the coffin with her so she has it with her forever. They seemed to go to sleep ok tonight, but it might not have hit them yet however. Will just see how they go the next few days.

Lol, I will try to be honest, I know I need to be. It's just hard to open up to someone face to face that you don't know. It took me about 4 sessions before I was comfortable enough to tell my psych about the CSA and I'm meant to do it tomorrow, yikes!
