Now it has triggered me, I can deal with this after yesterday. I can't go, I've can't leave my kids by themselves. What else can go wrong

It actually sounds like self-care @Former-Member, not selfish ..... you are recognising a boundary on your coping ability. What immediate physical supports can you put in place for yourself, to reduce housework commitments to minimal, unless throwing yourself into those helps to provide you with some panacea .....

Are you in a position to spend the day with a girlfriend in self-care activities. Can someone else take up the care of the kids for 24 hours ?

@Faith-and-Hopehubby's at work till about 7pm so its just me and the kids. I've got no one else on short notice that can take them. I have to tell them anyway. The last time I sat them down and told them someone had passed away, it was my father, now I have to tell them my father's sister has died.

I need to get control back first before I lose it completly. I hate this.

Can you put them in front of a movie and take a time-out first with a cup of tea ?

They are on there ipads at the moment so will be absorbed in them for now. I just don't want them to see me like this, I try and hide so much from them.

I'm trying to distract myself from doing anything which I will regret.

I understand @Former-Member .... keeping your hands busy with a cup of tea is a grounding activity .... going through the motions of making the tea .... feeling the warm mug in your hands .... smelling the tea .... tasting it .... keeping you in the moment but distracted.
