Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

hello @Former-Member

I have been struggling to keep up with everybody's posts....

I have only had enough energy to respond to a couple...and that didnt go well....

so I do know how you feel....

we pour our hearts out...have the best intentions....yet something backfires

....it is not about us though....yes I did feel infuriated....dismissed....hurt...in pain...drained...hopeless...I then realised ....no wait a minute...I have done nothing wrong....

if you have had a post rejected which I am assuming is what happened...that is in no way a slur on you...it is purely strict guidelines set in place to protect everyone...unfortunately in our everyday language or when openly expressing how we are feeling or even reaching out to help another we don't think of rules ....guidelines...we respond with passion.....caring...concern...compassion

you have not hurt anyone....

you mean so much to so many....;.when you hurt it is hard to remember that....it is even hard to feel

you are needed here....you have every right to be here...

we are here waiting for you

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

OK you're all guilting me... I'm a notorious hoarder and collector of stuff. I think I inherited that gene from my father. He worked on building sites and every day there would be a piece of wood, half-full paint tin etc. following him home. I can remember as a five year old driving around the neighbourhood with him in his old Ford Falcon picking up broken lawn mowers, picture frames, rocks for the garden and anything else that would fit in the car. Just as an example this is what I picked up today driving around:

4 x big mirrors - one is thick with bevelled edge

fish tank

steel poles - useful for stakes

shelf brackets

nails

speakers - probably crap but free

USB cables

AC adaptors

Jar of coins - probably about $5 worth

Spanners

Toys

Books

Of course I don't need any of this stuff and this is the reason I haven't been able to get a car in the garage for years. When I lived in a tiny one bedroom flat I didn't accumulate anything but as soon as I got a three bedroom house with a garage it has been out of control: wood, tools, steel, bikes, bike parts, electrical appliances. I think I need an intervention

Hi @Appleblossom

We have known each other for a long time.....you know know we are safe..... can you invite me and Little Buddah over to each potato salad......yummy. I'lle bring over lemon lime bitters and some sparkling water. Can I bring Arlo over too? He's actually been banned from everyone's house for making messes but Ille make sure he behaves himself at yours..........

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Love to have you all over @PeppiPatty

But can Mr Arlo get on with my felines. Will we lock them in the bathroom for 10 minutes and see how they cope? O he can poke his nose through the window whilst he is in the courtyard.

Lemon lime and bitters is the way for the non drinking Apple.

Hi @PeppiPatty

Thanks - I am glad you like the story of the red jumper - but that was not my brother - that was my ex-h - stilll wondering exactly what came between us but I am sure his hoarding didn't help the situation

And after years and years I have come down to the point our marriage was sad rather than anything else - but even "sad" can drain the tank - I was drained from so many things

@Adge

I understand - totally - I do let things accumulate from time to time but then when I get to it then it's easier to get rid of things and clothes and paper that are not being used - good enough reason - and I have tried to recycle but that can be a lot of troube for someone without a car - it's interesting though- if I leave something on the fence it is likely to go - someone will give it a good home

Hey @Former-Member

We love you here - whatever - I love you here anyway - and do so a lot

You have so much to do with your parents' house - caring for your Dad seems to be the most important but yes - the idea is to be able to FUNCTION and you need to get rid of all that stuff to do so

How is your Mother - is she coming home soon and how will that be - I hope you are okay - I think of you a whole lot and hope you are doing fine - if not - you are still a decent person handling a whole lot - and what more can any of us do but our best?
