HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Lovely @utopia ... ❣️

And lovely that your mother went in to bat for you with your sister by telling you to igno what was said .... 👍

She May have put your sister in her place over it too, and is now feeling a greater sense of empathy about how hard it is for you when things are down ....

Hugs ... 💜💐

Re: HOME

I'm glad you are safe in hospital, @utopia. I hope everything works out well for you and that you can get your medications sorted.

I feel sorry for your sister... it sounds like an odd form of sisterly rivalry! Perhaps she wishes that she got the same kind of care when she felt suicidal. But her circumstances might have been quite different from yours.... it's no use comparing.

The thing is with people having depression (I presume your sister is depressed?) that they can have such low self-esteem that they always feel hard done by. I think that could be it. And she is just verbally lashing out at you... which is very wrong, of course. She should never have said those things.

Please just focus on yourself and having a good rest in hospital. xxx

Re: HOME

Saw my psychiatrist this afternoon. He will increase my new Anti Depressant by a small amount tomorrow.
He will write to WorkCover and ask for a 2 week further stay - as my approval is only til Monday.
Feel as if I'm not on any meds at the moment.
Have a room mate that never leaves the room. So hard to try and have some privacy for an hour. She likes all the curtains open - even our dividing curtain. I prefer it darker. Especially if I need to sleep. Total opposites. But she's nice lady.
Have an hour leave approved as of tomorrow. So I can go and get a notepad and pen and a book and some washing powder. Left all that at home. Also forgot pajamas. My head was obviously not attached when I packed my bag. Lol.

Re: HOME

Thanks for checking in @utopia. Good news that your stay could be extended. Will that be okay with your Mum, sister, son, dogs etc?

Hope you don't have to keep changing rooms like last time. I went to hydrotherapy yesterday. I put my bathers on under my clothes before I go but I forgot to take my underwear for afterwards - oops. Don't think the Uber driver noticed.

I guess you could have been paired with a more unsuitable roomie.

All the best. Thinking of you.

Re: HOME

@soul - that gave me such a laugh - I too hope the Uber driver didn't notice your lack of undies. Lol.
I told mum last night about the extra 2 week stay. She said she's barely coping but will be ok. Mixed messages. Complained to me for 19 minutes about my son and what she claims is his rudeness. Then talked about her stuff.
I don't speak to my sister if I can help it.
Woke constantly through out the night. So will probably have a nap today.
Hope you are well.
Hello to everyone who has been thinking of me. It's appreciated.

Re: HOME

good morning @utopia

you are sounding more settled which is very good for your recovery..

when I was in hospital I used to keep phone calls to family very brief...some stays I would wait for them to ring me...they never visited..if your mother gets lost in negative thoughts again...just add "sorry mum nurse at door wants to check on me"..bye for now...

Have you asked the nurse station if they have laundry powder there? if they have washing machines there the staff usually store the laundry powder..

an hour to go out will be good for you....be gentle with yourself..it might feel a little strange in the outside mad world at first...you have been in a cocoon environment...

your psychiatrist sounds on the ball and that is half of the battle...someone who actually listens and hears us....invaluable with mental illness..

your home, your son, the dogs, your mum will all survive...a learning curve for them to...

take care
