HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Wish to report that I was wearing underwear when I went out walking and to the shops this morning but then I'm not a celebrity @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member.

I hope you are feeling more settled there @utopia. When you know you have been approved for those extra couple of weeks, it will be much better. The rellies will surviveas @Former-Member has mentioned.

What's the most important thing is that you concentrate on getting better. What are you doing to keep occupied? I remember that last time you attended some craft classes. Hope you catch up on some rest today.

Take care, my friend.

Re: HOME

@Former-Member - definitely not strange to go without undies. I call that freedom.
@Former-Member @soul @Faith-and-Hope
Did Art Therapy today - topic was strength. I couldn't think of any of my strengths - so that's an area to work on while in here. This stupid depression doesn't really allow positive thoughts to come through.
My room mate has been moved to a single room today - so I've got this room to myself for the moment.
Not taking leave today. Too anxious after group. Hope to go tomorrow.
I can't use normal washing powder due to my allergies - so I hope the supermarket stocks at least one of the two brands I can use. If not I'll just hand wash my clothes with my non perfumed sensitive soap.
Off to have a nap now.

Re: HOME

It's hard to produce the goods when you're not feeling it @utopia. It will come. It would have been quite the challenge for me too to participate in an art class. Whilst I love looking at art, I don't have a creative bone in my body unfortunately.

I hope you're up for taking some leave tomorrow.

I hate the heavy scented washingpowder too. I use Omo Sensitive and I have found Bio Zet not to be too bad.

Good that you have a room to yourself at the moment. It will be more conducive to allowing you to rest.

@utopia

I agree with @soul

take things in your time...your recovery

one time when I was in hospital...I was struggling to leave the building...yet I so much yearned to go for a walk...one of the nurses chatted to me and I mentioned this...he said start with walking around the carpark..if that works...walk out of the entrance to the end of the road and walk back...it worked

I continued walking and had a lovely walk as though never had those first feelings..

main thing is that you have to be ready..

perhaps the not being able to think about anything positive about yourself would be an opportunity for a discussion with either your psychiatrist depending on how long his visits are or a nurse with whom you connect and feel can trust..

we can see your strengths as we have grown to know more about Utopia...you have to be able to see them for yourself...it is very hard....been there and sometimes fall back down in that place...

I think that you are doing fine with where you are at the moment...you survived the open curtain patient who shared your room. that would have done my head in...you deserve a medal for that alone...

it also takes strength to agree to go back to hospital ...far more than people who have not done that can realise...letting go and trusting takes strength...trying again despite the number of times that you have been struck down with this depression..takes extreme strength..

there I have given you some clues...

Re: HOME

@utopia,

your strengths are

Resilience - so obvious to all us here!

Kindness - you care about others and will post to others on Sane, even though you are unwell yourself. We see this.

Intelligence - you always think things over... you consider different viewpoints. You do this even when you are not well- that's pretty amazing!

Re: HOME

Very flat today. Feel sad and want to cry - but can't. That is so annoying. Having feelings but not being able to get them out is frustrating.
Very dry mouth today. No amount of water helps. Plus hot flushes from menopause.
Nothing to do but sleep. Tryimg not to sleep but hard to fight the urge.
Just don't know what to do with myself.

Re: HOME

It’s okay to have those feelings @utopia. Just acknowledge them and know that they will pass. Changes in meds can cause havoc with your body.

Rest up today and think about tomorrow being a new start. Do you have some music to listen to?

I am sending you bucket loads of positive thoughts.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia
Rest up if u can. Like soul said tomorrow is another day and hoping it bring you more positive and calming thoughts. It's hard when changing meds cause it gives you different side effects. Try to relax.
Thinking of you
