HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Yippee for spag bol especially when someone else has cooked it @utopia. Maybe he could cook once a week.

The end of the week is drawing near and I had only achieved one thing on my list - that being cooking a meal from scratch this week. So this morning I zoomed around the place with the vacuum cleaner, cleaned the bathroom and tidied up my bedroom. Nice feeling to have accomplished something but it has left me tired.

I also have arranged to go to the movies tonight with a friend so I'll rest up before then. Don't want to be falling asleep in the cinema.

Re: HOME

Hope your day brightens @utopia.

Vacuuming and cleaning is so very tiring, I have some to do myself either today or tomorrow @soul I think I'll break it into sections.

Tidied the craft room earlier, scraps all tidied into bags, fabric all sitting neatly in the shelves. The floor is another matter with threads spread all over.

Re: HOME

Sounds super productive @soul It's good you can get the cleaning out the way before movies. What are you seeing?

@soul @Former-Member
I've done the dishes. One load of washing on the line. Second load in the machine. Think that's it for me today.
Got a call an hour ago from the Private Hospital Intake Worker.
I said I'm not coming in. I haven't even spoken to my psych yet. And then WorkCover has to approve the stay.
Apparently my psychiatrist rang the hospital after he got my message yesterday - and although he didn't talk to me, he decided to goahead with the aadmission.
I'm not sure if I'm angry at that, or pleased.
Just numb I think. My don't care factor is up and running.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia - sorry that you are struggling again. So let me get this right.... your psychiatrist is planning on admitting you without even a consultation? That just sounds lazy on his part - his job should be to consult with you and decide what is the best course of treatment - maybe meds or therapy or admission, not just admitting you because that's the easiest option for him. That's one thing that always upset me when I worked in the private hospital system - getting people into beds was the number one priority, empty beds = lost income and nurses sitting around doing nothing. As his patient your wellbeing and recovery should be the priority not taking the easy way out. Maybe an admission is best but at least look at all other options. We all have bumps in the road and go off the rails sometimes - that's the nature of mental illness. Ups and downs are par for the course and that's why we pay the big bucks to these professionals. Sorry I'll get off my soap box now.

I know what it's like having teenagers - one of mine isn't too bad but the other one is far more self-centred. I got a serve from her a couple of weeks ago about how I don't have a job anymore and what and embarassment that is for her - oh I'm sorry, after what happened to me last year and how far I sank she should be thankful I'm still here. They really can't understand anything outside their little bubble yet they think they are all-knowing. It's good that your son is coming around - cooking a meal is a start. Eventually he will have that light-bulb moment but maturity doesn't just happen, it has to be gained through life experience and the willingness to look outside of their own world into other people's lives.

Re: HOME

Dear me @utopia how awful for you to not be consulted. The lack of understanding some of these supposed care givers have is incomprehensable to me. I am so grateful to finally have a very understanding GP, the psychologists not so much. We're trying to deal without them for the time being 'cos things went so badly with the last one.

Very insightful post @Former-Member

I can't write more now, has some upset this morning that will mean less interaction here. Look after you.

Going to see Three Billboards something something something - not exactly sure about the title @frog

@utopia - doing dishes and two loads of washing is good. Sounds like there's some confusion about whether or not you are going to hospital. Must be very frustrating and stressful for you. Whatever the outcome, hope it's the best for you.

Thinking of you during this difficult time. Let us know what's happening so we can support you as best we can.

@Former-Member @Sunflower @soul.
Might first thought was he was being pro active by listening to the advice of my psychologist.
But yes you are right. He will get paid more by WC if I'm in hospital. But I don't want to think those negative thoughts about him. So far he's been good to me. Better than my last scary psychiatrist.
We have a cell storm surrounding my town at the minute. Lightning going off in all directions.Good to have rain for the garden and the birds are lovloving it.
Am spending the night watching comedies on ABC /Comedy channel. Hope for some relief.

Re: HOME

My mum rang tonight. How are you? Feeling better?
No, I say.
What can I do to help, she asks.
Nothing, I say. There is nothing to be done.
Then she starts on me. How there is no point going to hospital. I've already been in hospital last year and I'm still sick. So obviously that won't work.
And then she starts on, why do I do better in hospital and then relapse when I get home.
She wants to talk to my psycholigist and psychiatrist. I told her to call my psychologist then.
She kept askingwhy I'm not trying to get better. How nothing the psychiatrist or psychologist or the hospital does - helps me.
Way to go mum. Feel worse. I can't argue with her. She's not listening.
She thinks I should just get up and scrub the house. Do the garden. Mother full time. Socialise. Exercise. Etc etc etc.
As if it's that easy. As if I haven't tried.
I feel like why even bother anymore. She believes they're not helping. So what's the point. Does she want me to just die.
