HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

@Former-Member - his secretary called me this morning. She said he's on hospital rounds until 11.30 this morning. Then she will try and reach him and ask him to call me.
No call. Guess I have to wait til Monday.

Re: HOME

Sorry to hear you didn’t get the call @utopia and have to wait till Monday. Please keep taking care of you, despite baby dragon eye-rolls .....

Re: HOME

@utopia My thoughts are with you, friend. You can do this, one hour at a time.

It sucks so badly when the caregivers don't seem to realise what their non-responsiveness does to their clients. So frustrating.

I sympathise with about your child. No matter the age, the children, even when they're adults, don't get how others feel.

There are people here who can sit here with you, I will come back every few hours or so (timetable to keep to at the moment) to check on you. You helped me through a bad time last week, hopefully, I can reciprocate as small as my offering is, and help you through this.

Knowing how hard it might be, I respectfully ask that you look after you as much as you can.

The secretary called. Said she'd finally reached the psychiatrist. He will call me Monday.
Didn't sleep until 6am today. And have slept the whole day away. Just woke up. Asked my son to cook some spaghetti for dinner.
Am really hungry. Didn't eat yesterday. But I still can't get up and make any food.

Re: HOME

Quick check in with you before I go to those other tasks @utopia.

Good you got that call back, not so good it's a week end wait, but the call back means you've not been ignored and that's good.

Glad to see you up and about. The sleep hopefully has left you feeling rested if only in a small way. I know what it's like not being able to even bother feeding yourself, sadly.

Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that I simply have to eat something regularly if I want to continue living and not make my health worse.

So I have boiled eggs in the fridge some weeks, or some riccotta cheese that I can eat a spoonful out of the container just to keep me going, a banana, and for the worst days the Jar of Nutella in the pantry. Oh, recently discovered Bega brand Cashew Spread - a spoon of that with Nutella is just awesome. Eating is complicated and because I have to monitor carbs, I can't pig out either. *sigh*

Sure, this might not be the absolute best way to do things, but blood sugars need to remain stable enough to keep me from getting really ill. On good days, I cook and freeze portion sized meals so that there's something for the days and nights I can't be bothered.

I really hope things improve really soon for you!

Re: HOME

I hope your son does the right thing by you and cooks the spaghetti @utopia, whether he agrees with you or not. Baby dragons when they grow big need to pitch in with household needs .....

Re: HOME

I'm so sorry @utopia that you're not doing well. I wish your son would pitch in more and help you cook and clean. It's so hard fir you. I feel for you.
I'm also sorry that I haven't been around for you. I'm so caught up with myself that I forget about others in here. I'm not selfish I just forget. I'm really sorry.
Pls try to eat something. Take care

My son cooked spaghetti. Got it at 9pm. Was delicious. Lots of garlic.

Re: HOME

Stopping by for a quick check in with you @utopia. So pleased for you that your son cooked you some yummy spaghetti. So glad you ate it and enjoyed it. My dinner tonight was spaghetti too, also with lots of garlic. Garlic is so good for you.

Hope you can watch a tv show or something to keep you occupied. Look after you. Will check back later to see how you're travelling. Remember to drink some water every now and then too. I have to remind myself to do that too. Will go get a drink of water right now actually.

Re: HOME

Stopping by before going off forum for the night @utopia Hope you're getting some rest or being distracted by something lighthearted.

Remember tiny sips of water, wee bites of food when you can't eat much of anything else. We need food and water to keep the body and brain functioning. Look after you, hon.
