HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

That's some downpour @utopia. Seems like wild weather is becoming the norm these days. Hope you are not affected. Sometimes it's the days afterwards that are the worst.

How is your little pooch today?

@soul@utopia

Flooding can be bad so look after yourself.

It was interesting reading your convo about work and teenagers ... Yeah ... ahem .... My teenagerhood was different in that I took responsibility and was a wild child. I visited other people in nice houses with nice families etc These days it can be more diffficult as NEED is a great teacher ... necessity being the mother of invention. We learn and we do because we had to. My brother and i knew more about mechanics and driving than mother because we had to figure it out. In providing for our kids we need to keep the field open for them to have those growing experiences ...

Re: HOME

Yes I reached my son and his friends mum @Former-Member. He will be staying another night with them.
My house won't get flooded. But my neighbor is sandbagging her house now. Her house is low. Her backyard looks like a massive swimming pool. But my yard isn't bad. Think it helps that I didn't mow the grass - so the water can penetrate into the ground better.
@souk. We are expecting more heavy rain today and tonight and tomorrow. Many people have been evacuated. We don't need to.
I have plenty of food and water and smokes and bourbon (priorities) lol.
Hope you are doing better today @soul.
@Appleblossom. Yes I think most of our teenagers have it pretty easy compaired to when we were teens. But then they also suffer with a lot of pressures and stress. So it can be hard for them.
All the frogs that are buried in my garden (they live underground) came up last night. Jumping around my backdoor - trying to get out of the flood and probably looking for some food. Was beautiful to hear their song.
Even in a flood there is beauty.

@utopia

relieved to hear that you are safe...hard for you to watch others possibly not so safe...

made me laugh at your priorities...you left the chocolate off the list...

good that you have had confirmation from son...is so hard when we dont know..

frogs are so interesting aren't they...years ago when I was married we lived near a river and there was this one year where they were in abundance ....they came up to our front door one night....quite a chorus going on...

lovely that you can see positives in a situation like that...

take care

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia - good that you won't get flooded. I feel sorry for the people sandbagging and battling against rising flood waters. Hope it passes without too much damage. Just been having relentless rain at my place, only flooding is in the garage and there's nothing of value on the floor - the water just flows in one end and out the other. I got up on the roof a couple of weeks ago and saw how blocked the gutters and downpipes were and cleaned them out. Been years since they were done - glad I did them, don't think they would have held up to all this rain. At least everyone's tanks and dams are getting filled up - that's a positive outcome of all this rain.

Re: HOME

@Former-Member. Good timing cleaning out your gutters. I cleaned mine last month.
I haven't even checked my garage. Don't want to know if anything is wet. Head in the sand attitude. But nothing important is stored in the garage.
Yes dams will be getting filled. That's great. And our gardens needed some water. We were getting pretty dry. But a whole seasons rain overnight might have been a bit more than we were hoping for.
Stay dry.

Re: HOME

Bloody neighbour has let a bloke park his caravan in his front yard. He was up revving his V8 engine from 2am. Til finally at 3am I went out and told him to shut up. Took me over an hour to fall asleep again.
Then to be woken at 7am on a Sunday morning to him revving his v8 engine again. After 45 minutes of this I went out there and gave him hell.
He told me there was no need to swear (he sounded truly offended). I swore some more. Told him to shut up and go to sleep.
Now I'm so revved up - I can't sleep.
Frustrated and tired and bloody angry.

@Faith-and-Hope he started up again at 9am.
If he does it again tonight, I'll need a rifle.
