HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Hope that feeling passes @utopia. Hope you get your sleeping patterns under control too as it would mess you up no end.

Look what I found in Chiang Mai. Have no idea what it’s about 😆 but it’s around the corner from where I am staying.

Re: HOME

Feeling very flat. Not deep into the depression. More like a flat line. Little joy. Little hope. Not suicidal. Teary. Exhausted. Almost 8 weeks since I left hospital and I still don't have an Outreach Worker. I have left messages with Move Australia, but my allocated Case Manager hasn't returned my call. It's been 1 and 1/2 weeks since I left him a message.

My WorkCover Case Manager said she would chase it up last week. But i've heard nothing from her. I explained the first 9 weeks out of hospital are the most dangerous, the most need for extra help. Yes here I am at week 8 - all alone still.

I'm frustrated but can't be bothered anymore trying to keep advocating for myself. I'm too tired.

Life is harder than it should be.

Re: HOME

Oh dear @utopia, that's awful that you haven't been allocated an outreach worker as yet. Even worse, your workcover case manager not returning your calls in a timely manner is pretty poor in my book. It does seem that for you, life is proving harder than it should be indeed. You are relatively new out of the hospital (still within those crucial 9 weeks) and shouldn't have to be constantly having to self-advocate for yourself. I do hope you hear something back this week from both parties. I can understand you feeling tired of the process, but don't give up on it just yet @utopia.

Sitting with you if you want me to.

Re: HOME

Thanks for sitting with me @Queenie. I'm just so over it all. It should be easier than this.

Re: HOME

I'm hoping that this post finds you fast asleep @utopia. Are you OK? 💚💕💚

Re: HOME

So I got a phone call from Mind Australia and they / he / case manager will come and see me next week. First visit. That's a relief.
Still feeling flat. Don't know how to lift this mood. Still no motivation to do anything. Don't want to do anything. Feel like crying but no tears come. Numb to feelings.
Hate living like this. Am better in hospital than I am at home. Worried that I'll end back in hospital. Worried I won't.
Can't win

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia - that's something positive. I thought that the hospital would have some sort of discharge plan? Maybe it's different if you're under Workcover? Either way it's poor form - people need to be contacted and supported not just left to their own devices. Not good that you're feeling flat - I know that feeling "neither up nor down", just flatlining. I'm also trying not to fall into that pit. I've had ten months of constant stress removed and now I'm saying "what's next?". We all need purpose to go on living - finding that purpose is difficult and maybe you're waiting for that light bulb moment that will give you your direction? Have you thought about courses? I'm looking into that now as I don't want to return to what I was doing and I want to do something worthwhile with my life. I hope your day is good, take care.

Re: HOME

@Former-Member. I have been looking into courses - an Arts Degree majoring in Aboriginal Studies & Sociology. I have a big interest in Aboriginal History and culture. But the Aboriginal Studies isn't offered in the big town near me. So for those subjects - I'd have to do a 2 hour drive to Melbourne. And I'm not sure I could do that. Financially or physically or emotionally.
So yes, it does interest me. But this head of mine us still sick and right now I couldn't do the study. So what if next year I couldn't do the study either?
I'm very pessimistic at the moment. Nothing feels right.

@Former-Member. Sorry I forgot to ask. What course are you looking into? What interests you?
