HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia...... I'm hearing you too Hon.

I know this might sound insignificant, but it's not in fact ..... can you make a commitment to one task, on repeat, every day. That one task might be making your bed (not to perfection) or clearing the sink of dishes. Just one thing.

You can set it into a list of three things, and if you don't get to the other two, and just do the priority one, then you have met the commitment. If you are feeling rebellious about doing "the one thing", then do one of the other two things in the list, but the boundary is there, that something has to be done in place of "the one thing".

While it sounds insignificant, this is actually a commitment to recover.

Why "the one thing"?

Because you are exhausted. That was one almighty fight with W/C and you won, but it has knocked you off your feet again in the process, and all that momentum reached quite a sudden halt. You are resting now .... and you ought to be resting with support to keep moving forward as you rest, but that support is awol at the moment - as in absent without due leave - and you don't have the stuffing to get up again yet and sort them out .... again .... along with the bl%dy washing machine which is just salt in the wound.

Stuff them !!

Get up and make the bl%dy bed .... or do the bl%dy dishes ..... he's your son, not theirs, they don't give a stuff about that, you do, you want him back. Making the bed, doing the dishes, doing something is holding to that promise, that commitment, and you can do that ..... you can do "the one thing" that helps to hold the fort while you rest, recover, and build up the strength to go sort them out again, and get your son back home where he belongs, with you.

Dont even tell us what "the one thing" is if you want .... but please begin to post here that you got " the one thing" done today ..... please .... ?

I believe in you .... 💐💕

Just checking in on you @utopia and letting you know that I have been thinking about you. Hope you have a washing machine that works and have had some happy moments.

Re: HOME

Washing machine got fixed on Monday @soul.
I had psychiatrist appointment today but I forgot to set the alarm and slept in. So I missed it. Next appointment end of October.
Very tired today. So sleeping on and off.

Re: HOME

Hope you regain some energy and purpose @utopia. Little steps - that's enough. Thinking of you.

Re: HOME

Just had a mole cut off my ear. It was in such an annoying place, that I kept scratching or bumping it. So it's gone. I sweated so much. Wasn't sure if because of humidity or peri menopause or anxiety.
Next week I go back and get a new, but very suspicious looking mole removed from my arm. That one I'm really nervous about. It doesn't look good. But I'll have it removed and then wait for the pathology results.

Re: HOME

Hope it's innocuous @utopia. I mentioned one to my GP. She said that because it was on my face, I had to go to the skin cancer place. Will see to it when I get back.

How are you today? Good that you have been out and about. Still tired? Or feeling more refreshed now?

Re: HOME

@soul. I'm not worried about the mole on my ear. Ro me it's normal but they sent it to pathology anyway.
The one on my arm is abnormal and has me worried. I was hoping to have it removed today but we ran out of time. As soon as it's removed, I'll be happy and less stressed
Your holiday sounds amazing. I'm sure you'll make the most of your trip. Lots of photos please.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia - better to get these things dealt with sooner rather than later. Hope it's nothing serious. It seems very routine these days to get these things removed. Are you very fair-skinned? I remember as kids we'd be out in the sun all day, no sunscreen. I've been OK so far, not had anything removed but I always keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. One of my teenage daughters has that snow-white scottish skin and it's so hard drilling it into her head that she will be coating herself in SPF 50+ for the rest of her life. Never bloody listens - got burnt to a crisp earlier this year.

Re: HOME

@Former-Member. I've always suffered from those raised moles. But they hace all been normal, just irritating, especially when they sit on my bra line or undies line - that's when I have them removed. I'm disappointed that we didn't get to remove the strange one on my arm today. But one more week and it will be gone.
I now have ice wrapped in a face washer on my ear - to reduce the swelling. The anashetic has worn off. Will have to sleep on my left side tonight. Oh well

Re: HOME

Well I woke up at 1pm today and have slept on and off until 7pm.

Feeling shaky. Nervous. Not sure, but just off. Something isn't right. Maybe I need a PRN. Maybe I'm anxious.
