HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

I know what you mean @Shaz51. I see people who help others. I see generosity and compassion. On the other hand, society expects their 'workers' to work. In that scenario, I'm not useful.
I'm not feeling down about it. Just stating what I see
Tomorrow hopefully I'll see more compassion and generosity again.

Re: HOME

That's very resourceful @utopia. The earliest washing machine that I can remeber was my mother's twin tubs but when I left home after uni and to work, the flat I lived in had an old style wringer machine.

When I have been on holidays I'm okay with washing my clothes (small stuff - shorts, tees, underwear and socks) in the basin for a couple of weeks. I once took them to a laundry service and they came back looking like they had aged two years (in SE Asia).

Hope you get that machine sorted. Lucky to get anything more than a year's warranty on appliances these days.

Yeah @Shaz51 - my vacuum cleaner is just about to give up the ghost - get what you pay sometimes - it was very cheap so 18 months in probably the limit.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia

Sometimes I think we do have to call it as we see it.

Hope things improve.

The frog and pond set up sound great.

I am not sure whether @soul minds but she posted a pic of a cockie and a gizmo so I thought I would call @Bubbles3 over to have a look ...

Bummer on built in obscelescence. Yeah Ovens used to last 20-30 years. I am sweeping up cat fur with stiff broom before I vacuum. It is actually easier and gets more stuff off carpet ???

Re: HOME

@Appleblossom. All electrical appliances used to last longer. I'm starting to sound like my Gran - "in the good old days". Lol.
Love the picture @soul. You always come up with great images.
Tonight is okay. I've taken some meds to help me calm down - I was getting anxious. But feeling okay now

Re: HOME

Just realised why I have been so anxious - more than usual.
Have slowly been reducing my anti anxiety med. First 1/2 a tablet for a fortnight and then a 1/4 tablet for the next fortnight.
So my last tablet was Wednesday night. No wonder Friday and especially Saturday was so hard.
The psychiatrist wanted me off this med as he thought it was leading to too much sleep. I see him in just over a week - so I'll monitor my anxiety levels everyday. And we'll see if I get better or not - without this med.
Feel stupid for not realising I'd stopped a med.
Feel good for working it out today. I might not be going backwards like my fears tell me.
My body just has to get used to not having this medication in my system anymore.
Good to know this. Calming.
