HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

@soul thanks.
I pick up the painting nest Wednesday. I have to go to Melbourne to see my Psychiatrist. Instead of taking public transport, I'll drive there. After the appointment then I'll go and pick up the painting from South Yarra. Think I won't get home til after 7 / 7.30pm.
Haven't told my mum and son yet. Cos it's my birthday next week and mum will want to do a special dinner and have cake. And I'm really not fussed on celebrating my birthday. So at least I get out if having to do that.
And I can't wait to hang my painting. It's going on the big Dining room wall.

Re: HOME

That will be something nice to look forward to @utopia. I hope you get a lot of joy every time you look at it. Does it have a story to go with it? Often Aboriginal paintings do. Maybe you could share it with us then.

Be careful with all the driving especially at night.

Re: HOME

@soul. It's a painting from a series of work the artist has painted - called Bush Medicine.
Can't remember the name of the plant - but it grows in many areas in Australia - including my area.
When I pick up the painting - I also get paperwork describing the painting, the plant and it's meaning & the artist. So then I'll be able to share it with you all.

Re: HOME

That painting was meant for you @utopia. It is a very special piece of art. I looked this up.

"Utopia's Aboriginal artists have been remarkably successful, and continue to produce distinctive works that are collected by people in Australia and all over the world.[11] Notable artists from Utopia include Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Gloria Petyarre, Kathleen Petyarre and Jeanna Petyarre.

Also found this snippet @utopia

The people harvest and consume traditional foods – and to some extent medicines – especially the elders. This practice is likely to have mitigated the prevalence of metabolic diseases, seen in other populations, which have been very damaging to Aboriginal health.

Re: HOME

@soul. My artidt is the neice of Gloria and Kathleen Petyarre & she paints Bush Medicine like Gloria does. In the same style.
The bush medicine she has painted - that I've bought - is of the Kurrajong leaves. It's beautiful.
I'll take a photo of the painting & put it on the forum.

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia, I planted a Kurrajong tree in my front yard 10 yrs ago. Would u like a photo? Trees are next to birds in my love of nature 🐦🌳

Re: HOME

I'll look forward to seeing it @utopia. So nice that you planted a Kurrajong tree all those years ago and that it thrived @Former-Member.
