HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

@soul @Former-Member. My local AA Meeting tomorrow night and then Tuesday I'll go to a nearby town. Will now rotate my AA Meetings and only go every second Monday - as my sons training for his soccer squad is at the same time. So every 2nd week I'll do a Sunday meeting and a Tuesday or Wednesday meeting. About an hours drive away.
My best friend is going to come along on the No Drinking path. I started today. She starts tomorrow.
And my dad was an alcoholic and my mums dad (who I never met) was an alcoholic. And we think my Gran suffered from Depression.
I guess if you look hard enough, you will find links everywhere.

Re: HOME

Good for you @utopia that you are attending these meetings and have support via your best friend. Pity that you have a long way to travel though.

How is your son enjoying football? I have just been watching a match between Arsenal and Chelsea. It's half time now. No goals.

I reckon all families have MI somewhere in the mix. Never really saw my parents happy. Dad suffered from PTSD and Mum was mostly depressed but put on a fairly stoic front. My daughter gets overly moody and was some issues. My son seems well adjusted - yay!

Re: HOME

@soul. Yes I think MI can be found in most families.
My sons soccer team came runners up in the grand final last weekend.
He starts soccer training again tonight - for a new soccer squad he had got into. Their first games will be late October. So it's going to be a whole year of playing soccer. My son is rapt. Which makes me happy.
I'm sure most mums are the same. If our kids are happy - we are (or at least relieved).

Re: HOME

Another night of tossing and turning. Too hot. Too cold. Not comfortable. Why can't I just sleep. Just hop into bed and go to sleep? I used to be able to sleep in hospital. I was on an anti psychotic and a schizophrenic med - to help me stop being anxious at night. A side effect was they helped me sleep.
Then a week and a half ago, my psychiatrist thought I was sleeping too much and didn't need them & my anxiety was better - so I had to stop one med and half of the other med. Now my head chats all night. I can't do my breathing exercises. I'm tired and I can't sleep. Worse tonight. I just can't get comfortable in my own bed. It's driving me nuts.

Re: HOME

Maybe turn on a light and read for a while @utopia .... ? Sometimes the change of plan from sleep to read causes you to switch back to sleep mode.

Re: HOME

@utopia I'm the same as you right now. I've a headache from all the non stop thoughts. And I'm hot and uncomfortable too. Last time I didn't sleep until after 3am. Maybe our brains could get together & wear each other out lol! Thinking of you, and I hope you get some rest soon.

@Sans911 & @Faith-and-Hope. I am exhausted and want to sleep. My mind/body just won't let me. And if I start reading, I'll end up being up for hours. I find it hard to put a book down. And my eyes are too tired to read. Hard enough posting here.
I'll kerp trying. Even have my ceiling fan on. I'm hot. I'm cold.
