HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

having broken sleep does not help either , sometimes a good cry does help

I know having physical problems is different but every time i see a specialist , i want to have a big cry afterward

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia I’m sorry you’re struggling so much. You’ve had so much stress lately.

I do understand what you’re saying about motivation. I’m not coping with a few things snd tiday all I wanted to do was cry but I couldn’t.

I’ve tried what your psychologist suggested. It didn’t wirk fir me. My mind was racing too much. I couldn’t concentrate.

Not having a good night sleep is terrible.

When are you seeing your psychologist next?

can you see your GP snd talk?

sending you a hug ❤️

Re: HOME

@BlueBay I don't see my psychologist for another 12 days. She's overseas.

I went to see my gp this morning to get my monthly WorkCover certificate signed. But unfortunately it was a different doctor I had to see and I don't like her. So no point talking to her.

Hopefully in a few days I'll settle down and not be so messed up.

Re: HOME

how are you travelling @utopia ?

How long do you have to wait to hear back about your assessment.

Re: HOME

@BryanaCamp . I'm doing a lot better now. The depressions grip has lessened.

I got my incapacity assessment back quite quickly. I got 18% incapacity with 5% die to earlier life issues and 13% due to work injury.

So now my lawyer has started getting all my medical records from all my treating doctors and psychiatrists and psychologists. He has a plan and is hopeful my ex employer will settle out of court, so I won't have to testify. I'd prefer not to testify.

The lawyer believes we are looking at a six figure payout. I'll believe it when I see it. Not sure how long this process will take.

How have you been? I hope everything has been going smoothly for you.

Re: HOME

Wow that all sounds like great news @utopia and I'm glad you're feeling better within yourself. Well done on all that. I can understand why you'd prefer to not testify, best not to go digging up the past for sure.

I'm ok, finally got a job after 7 years unemployment, start Monday, excited & nervous.

Really glad things are turning around for you @utopia a six figure sum sounds amazing but I think you're right to be cautious with your expectations, see how things pan out.

Re: HOME

That does sound like good newss @utopia and glad to hear you're feeling at least a little better Take it day by day, you're right to be managing your expectations re the lawyer, but fingers crossed that is the outcome and you can get the payout without having to testify.

Excited for you as well @BryanaCamp, looking forward to hearing how Monday goes for you

Hi @utopia

I’m glad you’re feeling a little better.

And it will be fantastic if you don’t have to testify. If you get the amount of settlement your lawyer is saying that will help you so much. Really really good. Fingers crossed. Hugs ❤️

Re: HOME

That's fantastic news @utopia

After all this time and all those trips into hospital - I hope you get your 6 figure payout too and don't have to testify - you have been through enough and why hash it all up again - it's not as if you haven't told enough people by now

It's a pity you couldn't see your own doctor - trying to talk to someone you don't like is a waste of effort - better to hold on and wait

But such good news! You have waited long enough - at least 3.5 years which is about how long I have known you - how these things drag on -

I really do hope you can start healing now and I wsh you all the best
