HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

That is good @utopia Did anyone take your couches?

Re: HOME

No one has taken the couches yet @Zoe7. If they're still there the, I'll have to do something, as rain is forecast.

I guess I could take them to the tip. We have a tip shop that has furniture. Will take my tree cuttings and prunings in the trailer to the tip tomorrow . Hoping to get our new couch (mums old couch) Saturday morning.

Re: HOME

You could bet if you didn't want anyone to take them then they would be gone by now lol

Maybe you could put them on top of the cuttings and prunings and see if the tip shop will take them tomorrow @utopia then if they won't you can keep going to the tip.

I have to prune a couple of trees but haven't gotten around to it yet - been concentrating on the other side of the garden where I have the edging and plants planted. There is one side of the garden that I haven't done yet.

@Zoe7@Faith-and-Hope & others.

Well I was anxious as this morning. Having a fight with my head that was telling me not to go to the Aboriginal Awareness Day. But I had a drink, told my head to shut up and I went.

I was the only one there on my own. Everyone else were with friends or family groups. Oh well, keep the anxiety at bay.

Did a walk with a group where we learnt a bit about the restoration of the land. And some of the amazing things one plant can provide uses for. Tried 2 plants to eat. One was yummy.

Then went and sat and was shown how to do some weaving. I imagine it would be quite meditative once you are experienced. So did a sampler of weaving with green grasses. Really enjoyed it.

Then time for lunch. They cooked up a BBQ with a heap of yummy salads.

Then I was sitting around on my own again. I'd hardly talked to anyone there all day. Still had to wait another 30 minutes before the edible plants tour would begin, that I was booked on. But then I noticed all my anxiety signs coming out. Rubbing my hands over my legs repetitively, sweating, loud LOUD negative self talk. I tried to sit with it for 10 minutes. Just kept getting worse. My breathing was picking up pace. After long enough time of trying to regulate my breathing and calm down, I was near tears. So I grabbed my bag and drove home. Missing the last 2 events of the day.

Got home and slept for 3 and a half hours. That's how my anxiety works. Wears me out.

I'm glad I managed to push through to attend the first half of the day. Just couldn't manage the whole thing.

Re: HOME

Sorry your anxiety got that bad and stopped youo enjoying the whole day @utopia but you made it there and did half a day of activities do that is better than nothing. I hope you are resting still and your anxiety has significantly reduced after a sleep

Re: HOME

Hi @utopia ..... 👋💕

The day itself sounds wonderful. I would love to try it sometime, and I would be The only one there by myself too, probably ......

I am so glad you went, even though you needed to come home early. What a wonderful experience. I would love to have a turn at the grasses weaving. I also saw flowers made out of feathers at the Aboriginal Heritage Centre. They were so beautiful.

Bush tucker is something I want to learn more about, when I have more opportunity.

Yes I'm glad I went and did half the day, at least @Faith-and-Hope@Zoe7.

Re: HOME

If you are up for going again sometime @utopia, there might be family groups who are a little more inclusive as well, and make you feel supported in being there. Not everybody thinks to do that, but many do.
