HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

I know from my back to work experience, they require a heap of information @Zoe7. And although you've given them plenty, there are some restrictions or things you may need in place, that you won't be aware of, until you start working again. It's trial and error time.

You sound like you are doing pretty well with your gp away. Well done. That's a big improvement .

How is everything else going? DBT - is it helping?

Did you get to the beach with Toby today?

Re: HOME

Both my GP and pdoc have been away for the same length of time @utopia - so my pdoc set up me seeing the psychologist that facilitates DBT to see me once a week - that little bit of extra support to fill the gap of everyone else being away. It has definitely helped. It has been more of a check-in than anything but was good knowing I had that outlet if anything happened in that time the others were away.

DBT is going much better than it was when I first started. 2 of the group members finished up on Wednesday so will miss them next module. We will get some new group members though so that will be interesting. This last group was a really nice and easy group to be part of so there is a bit of anxiety around what the new people will be like - I am sure they feel the same though so will try to welcome them and make them feel as comfortable as possible.

I think DBT is helping - it is a combination of that and the meds working. The big test will be when I am back at work and around people. A lot of DBT revolves around interactions with others and I do very little of that - home on my own mostly ....so limited exposure to many of the situations we cover.

I am planning on taking Toby to the beach today. I did some gardening yesterday after the pool and have more I ant to do today then I will head to the beach a little later on.

Re: HOME

I've heard some people say the first time they didn't get much, if anything from DBT classes, but the 2nd time they did @Zoe7. Fascinating.

Enjoy your gardening and the walk on the beach.

Re: HOME

I am just about to start the second round of doing each module so I expect to pick up a bit more than I did the first time around @utopia For the very first mosule I did - and part of the second module - I could barely focus on even being there so I really didnt take much if anything in. So we will see how I go this time.

What are you up to today?

Hello @Shaz51@Zoe7

Have done nothing today. Been a bed and sleep day. Feeling a bit down but not depressed. Decided to spend the day in bed.

Hope you both had more productive day than me.

Re: HOME

Sometimes we need days like that to recharge a little @utopia

I have had a pretty good day - been to the supermarket and spent the rest of the day in the garden, doing housework or watching tv. I can't spend too much time in the sun so have been gardening in small bursts then coming in to do things in the house. Managed to sew up a couple of Toby's toys that my sister's dog tried to destroy lol - he has bigger teeth than Toby and can really sink them in when he finds a toy he likes.

I didn't get to the beach though but that is ok because I have done some things at home that I wanted to do. There is still a lot to go but hoping over the next few days to get most of it done.

Re: HOME

@Zoe7. You have been busy.

A good rest day is so nice @Shaz51.

Had to pick up my son from a sporting event in the big town tonight. He and his mate and their girlfriends. Don't know why the go went. They aren't into soccer. But they had a nice time.

Home and almost ready for bed.

Re: HOME

It is going to be really nice westher over the next few days so I am hoping to get more done in the garden @utopia Most of the housework can wait until later in the week when it is execting to rain on and off. Today I need to get to Bunnings before midday as that is when my sister is droping off her dog otherwise I will need to leave it until tomorrow.

Hope you have a good day today and feel a little more alive
