HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

Sounds like you're doing the right thing @Zoe7. Trying not to over think it. Just try and go with the flow to reduce your stress.

2 half days sound good to start with.

I bet the kids can't wait to see you.

Re: HOME

It has been 2 years since I have been there @utopia so some of the kids have already left but I'm sure some of the kids there will remember me. Most of the kids I had in my class when I was last there are now in grade 6 so they won't be there for much longer - will be good to see them before they leave at the end of the year though.

Re: HOME

It would be good to see them before they leave for high school @Zoe7.

Hello @BlueBay. Hope you are well today.

I had brunch with mum today. Had to eat inside as the weather was so nice, all outside tables were taken. Feel very full.

Re: HOME

Sounds like you’ve had a nice morning with your Mum @utopia. That’s really nice. My daughter and I took Ayla for a walk snd we stopped for a coffee on the way back.

Re: HOME

Nice to have time with your Mum @utopia

It will be nice to see those kids before they leave for high school - I have visited them a coupe of times but only very quickly. There are a couple of the kids that have emailed me since last year - so will be nice to see them.

It is a beautiful day here too. Going to have a rest then get all the potting mix out of the car - 10 bags so will take ne some time to move to the back yard. I might not getnit all spread out today but it is supposed to be nice for the next few days at least. I am looking forward to taking Toby to the beach tomorrow - that is my plan anyway

How is your painting going?

In response to: Re: HOME

Re: HOME

No painting yesterday or today. Nice lazy days. Painting again tomorrow. Think I can only do one more door and frame before I run out of paint. Then to the big city to get no VOC paint due to my allergies. The paint I'm using has no odour.

Are you going into straight classroom work or Art Room work?

In response to: Re: HOME

Re: HOME

Straight classroom work @utopia I think anyway I would love it if it was teaching Art again. I won't know anything until HR and my gp can talk next week - my GP isn't back from leave until Wednesday and it may take her a couple of days to get that sorted so I am looking at least another week to 2 weeks before I hear anything. I just need to be as prepared as I can be for another meeting iwth the Principal - they haven't gone as I had hoped previously so not expecting the next one to be any easier.

Re: HOME

What do you mean the meetings haven't gone as well as you'd hoped? @Zoe7

Re: HOME

Initially we submitted a letter from my GP to do 2 mornings a week as a volunteer - that was not accepted by the Principal. I am not sure how much HR had in that decision as well but the Principal was also going to be on leave for the last 2 weeks of term and wasn't comfortable having me there when she was not. The timing wasn't ideal but now she will have to organise for me to go back for 2 half days increasing to full days after a couple of weeks. It is all a bit messy atm and I have no idea how this is all going to work out until my GP is back. HR need a whole lot more detail around things like recommended days of work, any recommendations/restrictions of duties, returning to the same school etc.

There is nothing they want that we have not already talked about @utopia but my GO has been away for 3 weeks with a week to go so none of this has been able to be discussed with HR - then it has to be organised with the Principal - the whole process has multiple levels!
