HOME

Well I'm finally home (again).
4 hospital stays in 91 days. Wow. No wonder it feels so strange to be in my own house again. Adjusting will take time. Cooking for myself will take time.
My house is in the same condition in which I left it. A pigsty. So no one room has warmth and charm to lift my mood. Will have to slowly start cleaning up - one room at a time.
I did go and watch my son play soccer in the finals. I'd been so sick this year - thst it was the first game I had been to all year. His team lost. But they play again next week. So still stand a chance of playing the grand final.
My son is still living with my mum. Has been since the end of April. Hopefully he will see how much I've improved on my new anti depressants and anti anxiety meds. Then he may choose to come home soon.
Was up and doing the washing early this morning. But now reading a book in bed.
Am very bored. But have AA Meeting tomorrow night.
And I have my WorkCover IME (independent Medical Examination) - psych interview with a tough psychiatric on the 30th of this month. Think it could be on Wednesday. And then I have my much waited for Psychologist appointment. Can't see him when I'm in hospital (too far away).
So that's it for now. A new thread for a new beginning.

Re: HOME

It must be hard, @utopia, but think back to what your interests used to be, before you became unwell. What did you enjoy doing? Can you give yourself permission to do enjoy that activity again? Just suspend your disbelief for a second and imagine yourself doing your favorite activity, whatever it is.

For me, I think it's making my art, but I also love baking. When I feel down, it takes a mammoth effort to think back to how I enjoyed these things, because my interest does fade. I think the trick is, for me, to do the things that I know I used to enjoy, even if I don't feel like doing them.

If I waited until I actually felt like it, then I might never begin.

But if i just being doing something, regardless of how I feel, then enjoyment will follow....

Re: HOME

Great advice there @Sahara and @Teej. I'm in a bit of a funk and feel as if I need to change my scenery. Give my daughter some breathing space as we live together in a small townhouse. Just have to decide where to go and when. Lack of confidence is holding me back.

Re: HOME

Maybe you could start with a day trip to the country, @soul? Take a picnic lunch with you?

Re: HOME

Nice idea @Sahara. I do a lot of walking but haven't been very far for a while now. Sometimes, wish I had someone to share those experiences with.

Re: HOME

Thanks for your thoughtful ideas @Teej.
At the moment I look forward to going ti AA Meetings (who would have thought it). So I do 2 meetings a week - bit hard to do one a day in country Victoria. .
I have applied for Outreach services - that are not linked to my old employer. They are new to 3 regional districts & 1 isn't too far from me. My psychiatrist has put in a request for Workcover to fund it (cheaper than a hospital stay). Just have to wait and see what they say.
My conciliation hearing - to go back on Workcover payments is next Thursday. Nervous but ok. Just unsure what to expect.

Grand Final for Soccer tomorrow @soul. I get to go and watch him play. Don't know how he's going to get to sleep tonight.
I've been busy.
Walked the dogs today for the first time in 9 months - I know!
Read a book on Australian Aboriginal Farming. Or part of the book.
Sewing another cushion /bed fir my dogs. Dud one yesterday. A new one today. Keeps me out of trouble. So a day of small steps.
