Re: not coping

@Snowie unfortunately no its not maths, its a lot of research into medications, medical procedures and some definitions that I doubt anyone can actually pronounce 🤦‍♀️ just glad its not a speaking task cause I can barely spell the bloody things!

Re: not coping

Haha @outlander

I think google has a way that can help you pronounce the words!

Re: not coping

yeah it does @Snowie thankfully I don't need that for this course, the last course I did. I had to do a 5 minute speaking task with a heap of words that I still can barely pronounce!

Re: not coping

assignment is finished, just found out the finish assessment is a speaking task. don't even know how im suppose to do that when I have trouble pronouncing normal words every day 😞

@outlander , I am sure you will do just fine honey. How are you doing tonight.

Re: not coping

ive emailed the tafe teacher to ask if I can do another research assignments instead or if I can find the old recording from the previous course if I could submit those and explained abit of the situation.
its so embarrassing, the only time if have trouble speaking before is when I was nervous. now I have trouble pronouncing some even basic words, so many times people have said 'huh' or ive had to have 3 or 4 goes at getting the words out or make a fool of myself trying to correct it.
phone calls are even worse, someone I know nearly hung on me the other day because they thought I was someone making a prank call because I couldn't get the words out it was only that I mentioned mum and her partners name that it clicked to what I was saying to them.

not really that great tonight @Former-Member yesterday was abit hard as well and has made me question a few things to do with pop. and this task has just brought up abit of the raw frustrations ive been having for a while.

its tough, never seems to rain but instead pours.

Re: not coping

My friend, I don't know that I have anything useful to say. Let's hope the teacher shows compassion and understanding and let's you do another research assignment.

I do however understand completely how hard yesterday was for you, all the emotions and regrets as I have similar ones around the passing of a loved one. As for your pop, is there anything you want to talk through @outlander , I am not be able to help but I have years of experience in age care and am more then willing to listen and help in anyway I can. 💖

Re: not coping

I hope so too @Former-Member
im not normally one to contact a teacher for alternative things but I think I have a reasonable excuse. the only trouble is usually I could get certificates but since all of the orthodontists and neurosurgeons have been closed and are closed for at least another 2 weeks that's not possible to get it sorted by then and my current dentist isn't taking any responsibility for it either.

yes yesterday was really tough, esp when a lot of family members were writing fb posts and sharing pictures and things. its not really any easier but then I don't think its suppose to get easier when you've lost someone you love...

is just that being a carer feels like to much of a responsibility. I do try but a lot of the time it doesn't seem enough and when something goes wrong im the first person that gets the blame.

His gp saw him for his immunisations the other day well she seen him and then the nurse gave him the shots but his gp came outside ( only allowed 2 patients in the waiting room and all others go outside to wait) to speak to me to ask whether hes still driving. I go the vibe that she doesn't think so, I said that he only drives between here and the cemetery (10 min from our house) and then back home. she said ok but if he drives makes sure its really close by because we wouldn't want any accidents happening. i don't and cant be the one to have to say that i don't think he should be driving but i think its going to have to be me to make that call. his dr has kindly offered to get a podiatrist to come to our house. i just have to get the referral off her next week when he goes for his third booster shot and to arrange it but it will be under medicare for a few sessions which will be enough as he doesn't accept help unless its someone else saying he needs it (if its me he gets angry or upset it has to be someone externally suggesting it) so that's a good start, he gets free appts for his eye conditions though his glasses aren't covered and he needs to get a new set since he broke the last 2-down to his very last pair now.
im scared to talk to his aged care specialist not because of them-they are ok to talk to but the repercussions of what i say worries me. i haven't said anything to anyone else offline because i don't know what to say. i know what most of the responses will be already because they don't see what i see.
