Re: not coping

Maybe just create things to do. I know it's frustrating that everything around us is closed perhaps a long walk. I read you like croqueting that is definitely a great distraction. And as always we are all here on the forum to support you through tomorrow as best we can. Hugs @outlander

Hello @outlander , my 27 yr daughter crochet and she was doing it on a bus when a lovely old dear told her off for doing an old people's hobbie!!! Would love to see some of your work. You do seem to have pretty full on days my friend. I hope tomorrow you are able to distract yourself enough. Will be thinking if you and will be here to chat is you want my friend

Re: not coping

Your welcome to come over to my place and do some cleaning there....lol it has been neglected lately...🙈🙈

I am just hanging on at the moment. Had a bit of bad news thrown at me today and also a pretty tough session with my psych.

Thank you @Lee82 @Former-Member
I think im in for a very long night again 😞

Izzy- i use to cop abit os slack but just jokingly and im younger then your daughter. When i need to travel by train for 2 hrs and i take my sister with me the first thing she says is only if your not bringing your knitting stuff lol. I cant crochet whilst moving though makes me feel sick.

Lee-🤔 my house isnt to clean either, just the basics being done but my room is starting to bug me so might be on thr cards tomorrow depending on how i feel.
Sorry about the bad news though, hope everythings ok... and the tough psych session-those are hard but sometimes beneficial too

Re: not coping

I'm afraid I am in for a long night too so happy to sit with you and chat if your ok with that @outlander

My psychologist keeps insisting I go into hospital. She has been telling me she wants to call the CAT during the last few session but today she seems more serious. Hearing this from her makes me back off and be completely honest with her when she asks me a question. Which obviously defeats the purpose of our sessions. I just don't know what to do.

Its hard when we want to talk honestly but fear overtakes instead.
What are the things that worry you the most about going to hospital?
Ive been to hospital so happy to share my experiences with you if that helps @Lee82

Re: not coping

I have been to hospital in the past. Twice and the last time wasn't that too long ago so my kids have been through it all and I don't want to put them through it again. I don't have the support I truly need on this side of the forum so it's pretty scary. If my kids weren't in the picture I would go but they need me right now more than ever. I can't do this to them again.

Re: not coping

Thats understandable @Lee82
What about speaking to your psychologist about increasing supports and doing other programmes rather then going to hospital?
Having a support worker that comes to your house once or twice a week might be a good place to start?
Some hospitals and community health teams run free mh courses like DBT which is foccussed on distress tolerance and skill building.
Sometimes a short/long hospital stay isnt the answer esp when your too stressed about things outside while your there. Longer term solutions might be better suited to you, do you think you could talk to your psych about what things can be implemented sooner rather then later besides a hospital stay?
My understanding on the CATT is abit similar to what we have here where they arent going to just throw you in hospital, they also want to help you work out what your options are and help you get access to those.
