Re: not coping

Really sorry @outlander that you didnt get much by way of answers. Sadly it also seems as though you got a bit of a brush off with regards to your health concerns and possible need for further investigative scans. Surely it would be worth it for peace of mind? That doesnt seem right Sweetie and I'm sorry it how it turned out. Confusion over mixed messages is not good either, is there any way you can obtain clarity over the things you werent sure about? You mentioned you are to try a couple of things for a week and see if it makes a difference. Does that mean you see him again in a week? If so, I would suggest you write down all the things you are uncertain about to ask at that time. I would also recommend you write down all the reasons you can see for why you think a scan may be called for. Irrespective of your age.

I really hope you can bring those SI and SH thoughts under control and dont act upon any of them. We need you here sweetie, and its pretty obvious too that your family couldnt get by without you. Even though they are seemingly reluctant to tell you that. I really find their apparent lack of appreciation quite upsetting at times, and it makes me angry on your behalf.

Anyway @outlander please take care.

Sherry

Re: not coping

The medical system isn't that strained @outlander. Many services have had to reduce their loads to maintain social distancing. And regardless, you have very concerning symptoms that need attention. It doesn't matter what your age is. What is happening to you is very possible, and is something that seems to be very unusual. Is there perhaps a way to get a second opinion? Even if you have to travel outside your area. And I understand driving or travelling further than necessary is a challenge. But please don't give up.

Re: not coping

thanks @Former-Member

when he kept saying that doesn't want to run any further tests or expose me to radiation (as in just a ct scan 🤦‍♀️) because im young I said I don't mind doing the tests because it might actually give an answer as to whats happening and then can go from there with what to do rather then going on a merry-go-round but kept saying that he didn't want to yet and that I was to continue my lactose free diet and try one of the other things he prescribed for a week and then come back and see him.
the thing im confused about is that i said ive been trying to eliminate all lactose from my diet to see if it is that rather then just changing my milk over and he said its not necessary its only for the more diary products (ie milk, yoghurt and cheeses) and that its not like gluten where you have to be very strict with it.
how do you know if its a lactose intolerance if your still consuming lactose 🤷‍♀️

@Sans911 i dont really know what to do. if i go to someone else then what happens if they say the same thing. i wouldn't want them to run the tests again so id give them the latest test results but usually when i do that they agree with the first dr.
its not that im not agreeing to do ct scans and everything its that he doesn't want to expose me to it 'when i have another 80 yrs or so of my life yet and doesn't want to risk the health of reproductive organs etc unless its an emergency and i dont think this an emergency because otherwise you would've presented to the ED' (those are his words).
Maybe i should give it a week if i can last that long and just try the other prescribed stuff and see if it helps. i dont know what to do.

Re: not coping

Yeah I'm hearing you @outlander and you have some very valid points. However, there just might be a sympathetic, knowledgeable GP out there who is willing to investigate or explore other options.

I'm a bit out of words otherwise. That's probably not a bad thing

Re: not coping

Often your social media pages have a local page where you can ask others for recommendations.

I'm much the same as yesterday @outlander. Haven't done much at all today. Just watching a doco about Alaska on Netflix

Re: not coping

that was my thoughts too @Sans911 im often seeing reccomendations being put up so ill have a look. i have to look for a more permanent gp anyway since mine just up and left and no other good gps in the clinic im at.

Are you a fan of documentaries? im not so much with animals or nature but i like it if theres some sort of story line or something like the crime documentaries.

im watching BBT. not long got home and sorted dinner out for pop so just chilling out now. might work abit on the next assignment.

Re: not coping

Oh I love wildlife and nature shows @outlander. But not those wa*#y reality shows like survivor or lost.To me, those are just try hards, seeking fame and attention. So I prefer more factual, informative docos.

Crime docos are favs of mine too. I like the peicing together of clues, and learning how it all comes together.
