That's good to hear @outlander and I am so glad you don't have to look after the kids tonight. More time to look after you.

Re: not coping

Im scared if i mention sa then they have to report it @Snowie thats not something i can handle. That is my worst fear, i cant talk to anyone because of it. The only reason my nurse knows is because i was having an issue with womens issues ans it slipped abit otherwise ahe wouldnt even know.

All this set off by one of those dating advertisements on the tv last night. I had it under control for a while then i had a shower and was just flooded by everything and sprialing down ever since.

I wont go into much more though. Thank you for listening and understanding. I knew you would and you were one of the main people i was worried about even mentioning it.

Re: not coping

@outlander I don't think they can report it without your consent hun. I have spoken to both my psych and pdoc about my sa and not one have they said they are reporting it. But I can understand you are scared, it brings up lots of memories and emotions.

Unfortunately small things can be big triggers for us and they can come out of the blue too without any prior warning. It really does suck when that happens.

Always here to listen sweetheart. I would tell you if I was triggered at all by what you say hun 💜

Re: not coping

That helps abit @Snowie its just because of my age that it happened and thati have my younger siblings. Being over 18 i dont think they can report it unless it was still
a threat like we were living in the same house but we arent and havent been for nearly 5 yrs now. Even when i think of mentioning it it makes me so anxious and sick with worry 😞 it makes it hard to talk to anyone and is one of the main reasons i joined here in the first place.
Ill see how i go abit later on this evening. I dont know if i can talk to her yet.

Re: not coping

@outlander just do what you are comfortable with doing hun, that is all you can do. If you feel ready to talk then do, if not then don't. It is an extremely hard and triggering topic to talk about and is never going to be in that easy category.

If you decide to discloses about your sa, please remember we are here with a compassionate, caring and sympathetic ear. However, ultimately it is your decision on what, if anything, that you need to do.

Re: not coping

i dont really know how i feel @Snowie i never really know what to expect or what i want out of a session. i told them i was experiencing the physical flashbacks and told them what the trigger was and they gave me some links to some strategies which after looking is just what is always told for people to do like breathing and that using other senses instead.
it just seems stupid now. it honestly feels like i should be over it by now, i should be able to go on a date or be ok with being physically intimate and yet im not. its not because of them, they did try to help me. never really know what to say to anyone anymore i guess

Re: not coping

I don't think we ever get 'over it', it is something we manage daily. I think it is more about using different coping strategies to try to deal with it.

There is no time limit hun on when we should be ready to date or when we are ready for intimacy, and it is definitely not stupid.

It is an extremely difficult topic to talk about and even harder to express these feelings to others.

You tried @outlander and that is the main thing, be proud of yourself for that.💜
