Hey @outlander ... just getting back to you on your post from last night. The one I couldnt respond to immediately because my battery was flat. Not just my phone, but me too I think. 😊
So in answer to your question re Holly. Yes she is a beautiful little dog, ever so cute. She is quite timid in lots of respects, and yet she is also a very gutsy little thing in lots of ways too. I have a coat for her for when its cold, a pink and grey woolie jumper. She quite likes it, and puts her little legs up to help me put it on for her when she sees me with it. But we mostly use it when we go outside. Inside she has her spots that she likes to be. And a couple of chairs where she has her favourite blankets. She is very clever at getting them just right so she can burrow underneath and thus cover herself up. She will very gently pick up the edge of the blanket in her teeth and place the blanket just right so she can scurry underneath. She is really funny to watch.
Sweetie, I know you are feeling really awful right now after your dental surgeon second opinion appointment. And I can understand why you are feeling so rotten too. I know you wanted to hear something different to what you got. But it now means that what you have now (re dental and speaking issues), is what you've got to work with. And unfortunately there is little choice than to try and make the best of that. I expect it will take some time for it all to sink in, as I realise its a life changing prognosis for you.
I know from what you've said before, that your speech problems cause you both frustration and embarrassment. Do you think it could be worth getting a referral to a speech therapist? I'm sure your GP would agree to that, given there is nothing more that can be done surgically. It should result in significant improvement, and thus increased self esteem and confidence. I wouldnt suggest you do anything immediately because you have other issues of more importance in the coming weeks. But I really dont want you to think that there is no hope for improvement, because I have confidence that there are things that can help. So please do not give up hope Li'l One.
I'm worried about you @outlander , so will be watching out for you, for when you feel ready to talk some more.
As @Former-Member says @mudsum ... I'm still here and happy to listen. I hope you are receiving support offline if needed, and you are managing to keep yourself safe.
