Re: not coping

might need to see someone else @Snowie many do telehealth now for more rural typeareas. you could set up a zoom appointment for her

Re: not coping

We go see her gp next week @outlander so will ask then about a different specialist or someone we could zoom with. Any specialist will be at least an hours drive away. Like everything with health care, it takes so bloody long.

Re: not coping

we were lucky in that we only waiting 6 months to see the specialist pop has and it was definently worth the wait. @Snowie hopefully you can find another one with less wait time

Re: not coping

I hope it is not too much longer @outlander

I have noticed changes in her the last few months. She has trouble remembering a lot of things and names of objects. I don't mind supporting her because she is my mum, but I know it will get harder on both of us as it goes along.

I know you understand this with all that you have gone through with your pop.

Re: not coping

def get her an assessment with my aged care. they can allocate funding even without a specialist referral. then she can have some support workers etc herself @Snowie

Re: not coping

Thanks @outlander

Have a few things I need to look into. Hoping the gp next week can lead us in the right direction. She hasn't got a formal diagnosis yet so not sure if that will affect anything.

Re: not coping

not always. it goes off what care she needs. you can self refer to ACAT. they do their own reviews etc @Snowie
