Re: not coping

@tyme I have no contact with my brother so haven't seen my nephews for years. I miss them growing up with my kids.

At least you see them now. They will have wonderful memories of their favourite Aunt!!

Re: not coping

They are always over at my place. I tell myself it's only for a few years and then they will be too old and busy to have the time of day for me 🙂 @Snowie

They are playing doctors right now - they are supposed to be having dinner...

Re: not coping

They do grow quickly @tyme Once they become teenagers it is uncool to be seen with parents/relatives!!

I think they know that they can get away with more at your house 😁

Defo! That's why I'm putting up with the nonsense now @Snowie . It's not forever. I'm aware of that.

Are you doing anything this weekend?

Re: not coping

Oh hugs @outlander . I know you have mentioned that home doesn't really feel like home for now. I'm here if you need a chat.

As for my weekend, @outlander @Snowie , I want to read to my niece. I got a new book about the atomic bomb and the war in Hiroshima.

My niece loves history. She asked last night, "Do you know what vikings are?" I said "Yes". Then she perks up, "Mum doesn't even know what they are. I know what they are because I like history".

She then goes on to tell me about WW1, WW2 and the holocaust...

Arghhh. This child reads everything. But she doesn't do any work. That's the lazy bone in her. She doesn't want to go to school because she just wants to stay home and read.

Every night, she's literally got over 100 books on her bed. I tell her to take one at a time, but she tells me she goes through heaps and doesn't want to keep getting up for more books.

Re: not coping

Your niece sounds a bit like my D @tyme, loves books and into reading about everything and anything.

It's so good she reads, they can learn so much from books, especially when it comes to history. I think all kids need to learn about our history and what happened in the past.

I am going to bed @tyme @outlander I don't think staying awake will do me any good. I am worried I will do something again. Thanks for keeping me company.
