So what's the next step now? @outlander

Will you look for a place for him?

Re: not coping

i have to wait until i go to court in a couple of months to become a legal guardian @tyme
i can put his name down for placement but i cant accept a spot until after the court date
until then i basically just cope and do what i can

Re: not coping

Does it take long to get a spot? @outlander

Hope it all goes well. Court sounds a bit nerve-racking. I haven't had any experiences with courts. Do you know what is going to happen in court?
(Sorry if I sound so ignorant)

Re: not coping

im not sure it can take a while sometimes @tyme but being lower care its not as long as high care

yes i pretty much sit down with NCAT and trustees and basically give evidence ass to why i want to be his gurdian and give evidence thats what ive been doing and capable etc then they have a half hour break to decide and then they let me know

Re: not coping

Fair enough @outlander . Hope it goes well. Does anyone else have to attend? Like what happens if a certain family member doesn't want you to have that authority? How do they know everyone is okay with it?

Re: not coping

no it can be done on the phone @tyme
i honestly dont know. im not telling my family im going for it at this moment.
it can be changed down the track like if i dont want the responsibility i can make an application for another family member to take over.

Re: not coping

It hear it will open the doors a lot wider once care has been arranged for pop. I can see how it can be a scary thing. Sometimes, caring for others can be comforting to know you are needed, but then that reduces, it's a scarier world out there. I know you said you wanted to move forward in life.

It sounds like you have a lot of organise things start moving forward.... like the house @outlander

Am I on the right track? Sorry if this is not what you are referring to.
