Re: not coping

i guess its the same as sending kids to a babysitter @Snowie sometimes its necessary. as long as shes treated well which i know you would choose a good place for her.

ive worked 6 days in a row so far. one more shift tomorrow then a day off but isnt really a day off with everything i need to do. thursday is working friday is work sat is work as well. sunday off but im suppose to be helping out at a local competition so not really a day off again lol

Re: not coping

That sounds full on @outlander I hope in all of that, that you can get some time to yourself hon.

Is the competition to do with horses hon?

It must be hard to work shift work too. Especially when your days off are full with things you need to get done. I remember doing shift work when I was at uni, but that was a very long time ago.

Re: not coping

in between that is appointments for me and pop on tuesday wednesday and thursday at this rate @Snowie so its a big week and i also need to travel to pick up a specific medication. i only need to travel once a month but its still a 3 hour round trip so i have to have a couple of hours spare and without pop as well.

have a lot of appointments coming up though across the next couple of weeks tbh.

yeah its a horse comp. just volunteered to help out for a couple of hours but my couple of hours when i enjoy something turns into a whole day thing! so i ca guaretee itll be more then just a couple of hours.

i dont mind the shift work. its actualyl harder to do for me because of all the other responsibilities i have but once i get pop an allocated home itll be way easier for me.

Re: not coping

I hope all of the appointments go ok for you and your pop @outlander

That is a long round trip just for meds hon. I am glad you don't have to do it all the time.

A couple of hours always seems to turn into a whole day. I hope for your sake it is only a couple of hours.

I hope you are able to get your pop more help quickly hon. Whatever you need to do to ease some of that pressure of you. Then hopefully it will make it easier for you and you can concentrate more on yourself.

My mum has been hard to deal with lately. They think she has got on set dementia. When the doctor asked her all these different questions, she struggled to answer a lot of them. She still has to see a specialist but that will take awhile to get an appointment. I have noticed her short term memory getting worse and remembering what things are called. She notices it within herself too, so that makes her upset. She says she doesn't want to talk to others either in case she forgets what she was saying.

Re: not coping

the medications are worth it @Snowie i have a very rare allergy and that medication helps to manage it but i only need to have it once a month so as much as its not a nice medication to have its only once a month. we are hoping that by the end of the year i can extend the time between doses as well if my body has built up enough tolerance.

i cant wait to be able to move into my own place and have more freedom. its been a long time coming but its finally abit more in sight even though there still steps in front of me but it feels more doable. i know it wont be an easy proess and its farfrom over yet but its within reach abit more now

can take a while to see specialists which is a pain but at least shes on the list. hopefully it doesnt take to much longer

Re: not coping

I'm glad the medications help and are worth the drive @outlander

I'm so glad you are moving into your own place hon. Hopefully it helps you in so many different ways. It is about time that you put yourself first. I am so happy for you.

Re: not coping

im not sure when itll be @Snowie its hard to know when but i am hoping by mid next year. im trying to keep it realistic and as much as i would like to be looking now im trying not to plan to quickly.
so in the meantime im still sticking with the plan to make sure my debts are paid off and start regrouping my savings as well

as much as work tires me out its helping to pay of the debts abit faster. ive got quite a few from last year because of all the medical expenses but since the last intensive treatment i havent needed to spend as much money on the injuries and rehab. im going back for the intensive therapy at the end of the year again so itll cost me a little bit for that but in the long term it has been worth it for me

Re: not coping

I'm glad working is helping pay of your debts hon @outlander At least it is helping in one way for you. You sound like you are setting yourself up for the future which is really good to hear.

Intensive therapy sounds like it has helped you in the past so hopefully it helps in the future.

Medical expenses can be so expensive. Even with private health cover I find them expensive.

Re: not coping

i didnt expect to qualify for the therapy and because it was expensive i had to take out a larger loan and a smaller loan to pay for medical and accomodation expenses and care for pop. i didnt get much time to prepare for it so no time to save. im slowly getting through paying them off but ive qualifed again this year.

it is really hard because its in another state so no supports if i need anything so i have to basically prepare for anything that i need. it foes for 7-8days and its super tough mentally and physically esp being away from everything and everyone but it is worth it. i can go walking nearly every day now, im able to ride in small amounts, stairs still a struggle but i can manage them and im able to work which is more then i was able to do 2 years ago. because ive already had surgery this year my private health is actually going to cover the treatment cost. i will just need to save for fuel, travel and accomodation expenses for before a couple of days post admission. last year i had to pay around 5k in the treatment alone not including any other expenses so this year i dont need to pay for the actual treatment this time. i was going to wait till early next year because of everything happening but if i go before mid december then i save 5k if not more.

i am starting to find some of the symptoms of my chronic ailments are starting to get abit more intense again and i still need to train for a wedding in a couple of months. that ones going to be really hard for me esp with the shoes i have to wear and the length of the day etc so i am dreading it but i can think thatis i can get my treatment after that. pop will go into a retirement home for 2 weeks so i can do my treatment and have a week to recover before going back to a crazy life

Re: not coping

Wow that sounds like a lot @outlander

Unfortunately getting treatment and support is expensive hon, especially when you have to add other things like travel into it. It shouldn't be that way but it is. I always seem to go over my limit in private health cover, especially with D and what specialist's she needs to see.

I hope you can train for the wedding hon and that things go ok for you.
