Re: not coping

I've been signing off tasks for staff at work @outlander Today I did medication assessments for two trainees.

After surgery I'll be in a moon boot and crutches for 6 weeks and then another 6 weeks with just the moon boot.

I only have 7 more work days then I'm taking Long Service Leave for 4 weeks prior to surgery. I still haven't decided if I'll return to work after my recovery. I need to get financial advice about that one.

Re: not coping

yeah im getting to my advancing medication administering soon too @Eve7 in about 6 months ill be qualified more in meds.

yeah its hard when recovery is so long, i think ive only got about 4 days of sick leave so far so id have alot of unpaid time off if i had anything major happen.

have you got lots of activities you can do that can keep you occupied while sitting down

Re: not coping

Good on you for upskilling yourself @outlander you won't regret it and it will open doors for you to advance your career.

Because I work for the public service I've received meritorious sick leave of 500 hours so even though I've used a lot of sick leave in the past 2 years I still have a bucket load available. Lot to be said for working for the Govt! There won't be any left by the time I retire though. It means I've. worked continuously for the past 26 years so they must figure it takes that long for public servants to start to fall apart

Re: not coping

thats ok @Snowie i ended up going to work for a few hours to get some of my assignment done. had my boss signing off on some requirements for me so was there till 5am and had a 2 hr nap then had to go for more tests and drs appointments. and then work again this arvo and again tomorrow morning. still not well but its deemed as nothing serious like gall stones so i am going to work tomorrow properly not half shifts or scattered hours
