Re: not coping

Hi @outlander

I am here right now but not for long

Because of my own issues I have not been reading at all really but I did look at your profile briefly and I know you are very tired and I can guess that you have had a lot on your plate - pain too I assume - and I can certainly identify with

When I was going through the rough time with my aunt's illness and death and not being able to go to her funeral I really couldn't take on anyone else's problems - and I do believe that care starts with self-care - I hope you are able to manage to give yourself care - I truly do

Otherwise I really don't know what's happening in your life - I wish you the best though and I am sending my best thoughts

Hi my darling sis @outlander

Sorry to hear things are rough for you at the moment.

Do you want to talk about it?

Re: not coping

i dont know how to answer the questions my boss has for me @Snowie i cant tell her the truth without unveiling my past abuses. she knows nothing of it but all 3 of my bosses have been so supportive through all the sexual harrassment ive been enduring the last few weeks, the circumstances are so hard when dealing with those with a disability. its even worse that all my collegues read what is happening as well. the client has been spoken to by a work collegue but with that work collegue ive also been told i need to harden up now that its been 'sorted' im not programed that way unforutnatly. even though i am uncomfortable, his pain after he was spoken to affects me more and rips my heart apart.

i cant seem to know how to answer the questions about my future either. they seem to simple in mind sight but i cant get any answers out. i have a meeting with all 4 bosses tomorrow so i think tomorrow may be quite uncomfortable for me and i can only hope that i dont just have some sort of breakdown. who knew something seemingly small has just about stuffed my work not so much with my bosses as they want me promoted but with everything going on it doesnt seem like a good time.

its also been nearly 8 months since i injured my foot and every news i get on it just leaves me even more hopeless then the day before so my life feels like everything has just stopped or been flipped around.

i feel like im going to get fired over some circumstances even though the main boss and the head director has said that what has happened isnt my fault and it shouldnt be me embarrassed but rather the client.
how do i answer the questions she has about my work and where she sees my future

Re: not coping

That must be hard to go through all of that at work @outlander

You have to deal with so much at work and also at home too with your Pop.

I hope your meeting goes ok tomorrow, it sounds like you have some support in your workplace which is good.

Sorry to hear that your foot is still giving you so much pain.

It is hard when our past affects so much of our lives at the moment. All you can do is try and answer the questions as honestly as possible, without of course have to say what has happened in the past.

You are a strong woman hon, you will get through this. We are here for you 💗

Re: not coping

Sorry sis @outlander

Fell asleep last night quite early. Was up early to take D to work.

It is hard when we cannot answer those questions for ourselves. It makes it even harder to answer those questions when other ask them to us.

I am sure that whatever you say will be right for you hon. You have always had good judgement.

I hope your meeting goes ok today. Will be thinking of you hon 💕💕

Re: not coping

Hi @outlander

It sounds really hard for you - I didn't know you were in a different job - I am interested to know what you are doing

And - a big AND - sexual harassment is not on - I have been sexually harassed in the past and it's horrible and for some reason men tell each other its okay to do this and it's not - not ever -

And being told to "harden up" - why should you? I have learned to be resilient but it took a long time and a lot of life to learn to roll with the punches but I don't think I ever "hardened up" - I guess it's okay for a man to feel that way but we are not and don't have to be

It must be so hard for you

So - what do you want and need? It's pretty plain to me that you want some peace and quiet in the work place - as far as your work place can be - and to keep your job without having harassment. Other than that - I answered this someone else on the forum recently. How about?

Just getting through the day

Managing your Pop the best way you can

Enduring your tough family issues the best way you can each event one at a time

And maybe you don't tell your boss the last two but you know them

Personally - I just want to get through the day, cook my dinner each night and maintain my independence. Once I had huge goals - I wanted to be an accountant and I am now retired but I achieved that - making such a goal in my teens was fine - in my 30s I decided to get my High School Certificate and go to university and I did. It depends on individual circumstances of course - it was the best thing I did but this is not for everyone. But you love horses - perhaps your injured foot has stopped it being possible to be a horse wrangler - I am sorry if that has happened

When your boss asks you about your goals regarding your work perhaps tell her you still haven't really been there long enough to know your options - and if you have been sexually harassed there it is appropriate to say you don't like that and one goal is that it will cease.

I'm sorry that is happening to you - you are a strong person and do your best - life has not been kind to you and yet here you are - working and getting on with things. I admire you - you have real stick-to-it-tivity and that is a valuable asset

But tough - I do know
